Connection isn’t just about relationships with others — it’s about feeling steady in yourself, secure in your body, and clear about what you want. I work with folks exploring intimacy, identity, and emotional healing, especially around sex and relationships. Maybe you’ve felt shut down, stuck in people-pleasing, or caught in patterns that don’t feel like you — like using sex to numb, seeking validation, or avoiding closeness. You’re not broken. These are coping strategies that once made sense. In therapy, we’ll meet those parts with care, not shame, and support you in moving toward deeper authenticity, safety, and connection.

Adults with ADHD, Autism, or AuDHD: Are you processing a late diagnosis of ADHD, Autism, or AuDHD? If so, you might be experiencing a mix of grief, confusion, relief, and pride. You might also feel overwhelmed about what it all means and how to incorporate this new knowledge into your life or identity. Often, neurodivergent adults experience repeated burnouts, ongoing social challenges, and carry a never-ending to-do list and a backpack full of negative views of themselves. If you recognize yourself here, please feel free to reach out and see if we are a fit. I have a lot of experience in working through these kinds of things.

My ideal client doesn't exist because everyone deserves competent, compassionate, culturally appropriate, accessible mental health care. I want to spend our time together helping you creating the space to share your story in your voice. We can talk about death, love, depression, anxiety, suicide, and gender. Or anything else that’s causing you to feel stuck. I particularly love working with 2slgbtqia+ adults, couples, and others who face marginalization in their day to day lives. I value collaboration, commitment, humour, joy and love.

I especially love working with those whose lives have been relegated to the margins of their families, communities, culture, and society: folks who want to be heard, to feel whole, to be seen, and to be valued in a culture that tries to erase or homogenize their existence. Working with me, people feel more safe in and connected to the world around them; develop greater compassion and understanding of themselves; identify their core values and practice living in closer alignment with them; and, ultimately, form a strong sense of self leadership over their lives, emotions, and decisions.

We can begin by discovering what matters most to you. Even in profound loss, or trauma, it is possible to come to a place of growth and change. Meaningful change can emerge in relation to how we feel toward ourselves, our physical being, and in our interactions with others. The journey starts with creative discovery and self-compassion.

You feel overwhelmed and exhausted. Regardless of how hard you try, you feel like you aren’t good enough. You struggle to live up to the expectations that you have for yourself and that everyone seems to have for you. These feelings may show up in your relationships with partner(s), family, or friends; in your career; or even in how you relate to your body. Maybe the seeds of self-doubt were planted by a well-meaning person in your life. Maybe they come from your social media feed or societal expectations to be perfect. You wish you could let go of the pressure and live a more fulfilling and authentic life.

My father struggled with alcoholism and I promised myself I would never follow his path. But I'd learned as a young teen and adult that substances offered an immediate escape from emotional pain and bad memories, and I did follow his path. In my early 30's I started counselling to find a way to heal from past abuse and trauma, learn healthier ways of managing my emotions, build self-esteem and enter into truly loving relationships. In recent years I expanded to work with couples. It is my pleasure today to walk with individuals and couples as they begin their own healing journeys toward happiness and fulfillment.

Are you a little different? Queer or Trans? ADHDer? Autistic spouse? Survivor of Religious Trauma? Maybe you have a specific set of unique personalities in your family. Maybe you have a bunch of labels but what you really want to talk about is being lonely. Maybe you've never found someone who really acknowledged that thinking your way through your problems doesn't work. Your problems don't fit in a neat little category, and you don't have a nice little summary of who you are, where you came from, and what is ailing you. Guess what? That's exactly how therapy starts: with the best pieces of you all tangled up with fear and shame.

Are you in your 40’s, 50’s or 60’s? Do you wonder what happened to your life? Where your happiness went? Does it feel like life is passing you by? That you’re just going through the motions. Lack of energy, verve or passion can feel normal but it doesn’t have to be. We don’t have to be marked by our age or accept dwindling joy as our fate. Do you sometimes feel a spark of hope? That things could be different. That you could enjoy this chapter with the wisdom you’ve gained. That the accumulation of pain and loss could somehow be repaired or minimized. That you could move forward with joy and certainty and purpose. It is possible.

Sometimes life experiences - especially painful or overwhelming ones - can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself and the life you want to be living. You might notice anxiety, doubting your worth, difficulty trusting others, or other patterns repeating even though you want something different. At times it can be hard to see a clear path forward. With curiosity and compassion, we can gently explore what you've been carrying, while paying attention to the wisdom of your body and nervous system, helping you feel more grounded, connected to who you are, and able to move through life with greater authenticity, choice, and ease.

I’m an integrative person-centred counselling therapist who works in a warm, collaborative way. Many people who reach out to me do so after feeling like other approaches haven’t quite fit — like they weren’t fully heard, or like they were running out of options. My hope is to offer a different kind of space where you’re met with sensitive care, taken seriously, and gently supported in reconnecting with a sense of possibility and hope for healing, even if that feels hard to imagine right now. Through a variety of counselling modalities, we'll work together to ensure every part of you is supported through your journey.

On the outside, you're holding it all together. But inside, there’s a constant hum of anxiety, self-doubt, and crushing pressure to get it right. You perform, you please, you push through, and it still doesn’t feel like you measure up. If this sounds familiar, I may be the therapist for you. My approach is collaborative, gentle, and practical. We’ll look at where these patterns come from and what needs to shift so you can feel more like yourself. The goal is lasting change: less pressure to prove yourself, less guilt for needing rest, and more space to feel like you're enough without having to earn it.

Many of us struggle with self-doubt and inconfidence. It's like we’re carrying around an invisible weight that holds us back from feeling fulfilled in our relationships, work, and personal life. Core misbeliefs, often shaped by early life experiences, have a deep impact on our self-perception, choices, and behaviours. With more self-acceptance and by realizing your own truth, you can move past the walls that are impacting how you feel and think, and proceed with more confidence and compassion. It's a journey, but with each step you get closer to living a life that's true to who you really are.

Bisexual Counsellors
What is bisexual-affirming therapy?
Bisexual-affirming therapy is a type of mental health support that fully affirms and reflects a client’s bisexual identity. It is rooted in acceptance and does not attempt to change or question an individual’s orientation. In this type of therapy, clients work with a therapist who understands the unique experiences of bisexual people. This support is especially important, as research shows that bisexual individuals face higher rates of anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation compared to other groups. Bisexual-affirming therapy acknowledges that bisexual individuals may encounter specific stressors—such as invalidation, relationship challenges, and minority stress—that require specialised understanding and intervention. Many therapists also provide couples therapy for bisexual partners, helping them navigate relationship dynamics, communication challenges, or external stressors that may impact their relationship. While not required, some clients prefer working with bisexual therapists who may bring personal insight to the therapeutic relationship. However, a non-bisexual therapist with strong training and a genuine commitment to affirmation can be equally effective. The most important factor is finding a therapist who understands how identity impacts mental health and can create a space of trust and respect.

What can a bisexual therapist help with?
Bisexual-affirming therapists can provide support across a wide range of concerns relevant to bisexual individuals. Whether through personal or professional experience, they often have specialised knowledge in areas such as the coming out process, navigating stereotypes, and dealing with common stressors. Relationship support is another key area of focus, as bisexual clients may face unique challenge when dating or maintaining relationships across genders. Affirming therapists can also help clients build coping strategies for managing discrimination or stigma. Additionally, many bisexual-affirming therapists can connect clients to other providers or community-based resources—such as bisexual support groups or LGBTQ+ organisations—that offer additional affirming spaces for connection. It's important to note that therapists provide can talk therapy and counseling services but do not prescribe medication—if medication is needed for conditions like depression or anxiety, they will coordinate care with a psychiatrist or primary care physician who can provide psychiatric medication management alongside therapeutic support.

How do I find a bisexual therapist?
The Psychology Today online directory is a helpful tool for finding bisexual-affirming therapists. You can use search filters to identify therapists who specialise in LGBTQ+ care and work specifically with bisexual clients. You can also filter by clinical specialties, therapeutic approaches, accepted insurance, session costs, and languages spoken to find the right fit. During initial consultations or early sessions, ask potential therapists about their specific training in bisexual-affirming care, their experience with LGBTQ+ clients, and their therapeutic approach to identity-related concerns. An effective bisexual-affirming therapist will demonstrate genuine understanding of bisexual experiences, including awareness of the unique challenges facing bisexual individuals. You can also look for credentials or continuing education in areas such as LGBTQ+ mental health, trauma-informed care, and intersectionality.
