Since neurotherapy restores your brainwave patterns to a more optimal range of functioning it can help with a wide range of issues including ADHD / ADD (in children and adults), PTSD, complex trauma, epilepsy and seizure disorders, concussion, traumatic brain injury, depression/anxiety, sleep, migraines, headaches, Tourette’s Syndrome as well as stress.
I believe it is my privilege to accompany you on your journey towards improved health and happiness. Whether we are doing neurofeedback training, EMDR or tradition “talk therapy”, my primary goal is to create a safe space for growth and healing. Neurofeedback, or neurotherapy, is a state-of-the-art, research-proven, and drugless method for teaching the brain to function in a more balanced and healthful way. Although the technology is quite sophisticated, the process is simple, painless, and non-invasive. It is just learning! Neurofeedback can also be used for peak performance as well as learning meditation. It works!

My favorite clients are people with ADHD .
My main goal is to provide a warm, accepting and nurturing environment in which my clients can explore their vulnerable places and grow from them. Often our life circumstances, or even those of our parents and grand-parents, have led us to mistaken beliefs about ourselves, our worth, and our place in life. When we examine these beliefs in a realistic and compassionate manner, we find ways to change that we never believed were possible for us. I have witnessed many such changes over the years, and I believe that a full and happy life is possible for all of us.

Positive Kids is a provider of holistic ADHD treatment for children and their families. We are the creators of a unique model called "LEPS." Our LEPS Model tackles the complications associated with ADHD with a very high success rate. The acronym stands for LEARNING, EMOTIONAL, PARENTING, SOCIAL skills. We begin by assessing your child’s ADHD symptoms before we go into a more in-depth discovery of what your child’s individual needs are. Once we have determined the initial requirements, we set up a schedule for you and your child, breaking down each part of the program.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
