I typically lean on narrative and expressive arts modalities, as well as somatic approaches such as Hakomi and some parts work.
Accepting new clients! My name is Erin (she/they), I'm an AuDHD therapist, and I'm passionate about neurodiversity-affirming therapy because I've seen the difference it can make to have someone "get it" beyond the textbook. Maybe you're looking for someone to help make your life more ADHD/Autistic-friendly or you've found it hard to connect with support from a neurotypical lens - know that you're not alone! I also work with youth (13+) and adults who are exploring gender and sexuality, life transitions, grief and loss, divorce and breakups, trauma, body image, and intellectualizing through a trauma-informed and person-centered lens.

Hello and welcome to taking your first step in seeking support & coaching. I am passionate about locking arms with clients who are ready to take their health and lives to a higher level. Typically my clients are in transition and have a desire to live their best life possible and are willing to take the action required to get there. You are motivated for self improvement, willing to tackle the issues you know ( and that we will discover) are holding you back from living your full potential. You see the value in uncovering your true self (flaws and all) and understand that this will lead you to personal greatness & fulfillment.

You don't feel like yourself. There’s a sadness that wasn’t there before. You feel worried, stressed, or overwhelmed. You struggle to fall or stay asleep, and you wake up exhausted, struggle to make it through the day. You're withdrawing from friends and family, turning down activities you used to enjoy. You just aren’t YOU anymore. But there is hope... As a counselling psychologist since 2007, I have successfully treated adults, children, and teens experiencing anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, self-harm and single-event or complex trauma, including adverse childhood experiences and motor-vehicle accidents.

From the outside, it looks like you have it together; on the inside you’re struggling and feeling like this is not the life you signed up for. You may be fed up with feeling weighed down by your past, feeling controlled by your emotions, or feeling like anxiety and depression are constant companions. You might not even remember a time when it didn’t feel this way. One thing is for sure, you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to wake up each morning feeling like you've got this. You’re ready to feel good about yourself. Most of all you’re ready to put the past behind you and start living life on your terms. I can help you.

I use a variety of techniques to support folks on their healing journey including somatic work, breath work and bio-dynamics.
Hello and Thank you for finding me. From my Transpersonal Counseling perspective, the ideal client embodies a holistic approach to personal growth and development, recognizing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. Issues are viewed as opportunities for awakening and understanding, rather than mere obstacles to overcome. My clients desire for clarity, purpose, and fulfillment reflects their innate longing for connection to something greater than themselves. Their needs for guidance, support, and accountability align with the Transpersonal Counseling approach, which emphasizes the importance of a therapeutic relationship.

Somatic therapy increases awareness by processing our inner sensations to become available to our conscious awareness, leading to a healthy, more regulated nervous system.
I wish to help you feel safe, validated, and heard. I am curious to learn your strengths and cultural diversities and collaboratively create therapy goals based on exploring and reflecting on your lived experience. I am empathic and compassionate and have faced the reality of life’s ups and downs; in this space, all emotions, tears, and humour are honoured. As a healthcare professional, I understand the pressures of public service. I invite healthcare professionals who wish to reduce stress and learn healthy coping mechanisms to work with me, and in addition, I would like to offer my services to those with chronic pain.

In one-on-one somatic therapy, which addresses how we hold trauma in our body, we explore and transform thoughts, behaviors, and emotions.
We are experiencing a paradigm shift in how we view, treat, and resolve mental health complexities. It is no longer sufficient to simply learn about our traumas and understand their origins to expect resolution. We are now approaching trauma from a psychobiological perspective, recognizing that trauma is physically embedded in the cells and tissues of our bodies. By developing our felt sense of these traumas, bringing focused attention to them, and utilizing somatic techniques, trauma resolution becomes achievable.

Hello! Thank you for landing here with me. I have been providing therapeutic support for women for the past two decades. My specialties are grief and transitions. You may be navigating adulthood, motherhood, or healing from the things we don't talk about like the grief you hold, or the divorce, surviving the narcissist, or perhaps you are midlife, peri/menopausal, standing in your empty nest wondering what happened and what is next?

Trauma can leave an imprint on our lives, but it does not have to be permanent. It may alter your foundation and leave you lost, angry, confused and in unbearable pain. I believe that choosing to rebuild this foundation through therapy is a courageous step in healing. It is not always an easy journey as we need to survey the land, start digging, install the foundation and work with any arising obstacles. This can be an exhausting and scary process but we will work collaboratively at your pace and create a resolution that fits for you.

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
