Hello, I have been in the field for over 18 years and enjoy working with others to see their true potential. My specialty is working with trauma including: childhood, first responder and single incident (ie. motor vehicle accident). Besides trauma, I help treat people dealing with mood issues such as: depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder and ADHD . By working through our often overwhelming emotional response to challenges, it allows an opportunity to embrace a more positive response. A healthy balance of connecting in times of need versus the tendency of anxiously attaching or withdrawing.

I specialize in working with individuals who have had early childhood trauma, and those who struggle with ADHD , Autism, OCD, PTSD / C-PTSD, DID, and BPD. I work from a strength base perspective but seek to identify breakages in thought that undermines unity of being. Trauma breaks the soul apart into pieces. The horror clients have witnessed, needs to be answered and mended – in part with the help of others, but mostly by revealing, liberating, and engaging their immense inner strength, which brings about healing. For those within relationships, I work with couples and family’s to bring healing to the greater whole.

I am successful in helping people with addictions, anxiety, depression, marital issues, traumas, ADHD , and grief.
Take this moment, right now, and bring to mind a situation where you were met with an obstacle and managed to overcome it. Bring to mind the images you had at the moment you succeeded. Bring to mind what you told yourself and how you felt. Close your eyes and remember. Many of us often forget that we already possess qualities of inner strength; internal resources that, when tapped into, can reveal solutions to our problems and give us fresh perspectives and new insights. I am well-positioned to accompany you along your path and guide you towards a brighter future, so that you thrive even during life’s most difficult moments.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
