In a collaborative, grounding, and empathetic manner, I facilitate soulful growth for clients navigating overwhelm or change. My care is strong yet gentle, focussed yet fluid, stemming from an experiential and relational framework. I am client-centred and trauma-informed in my approach to working with individuals, couples, and families. While personal resilience and self-agency are important, so to is not struggling by oneself. Sometimes, we become the best versions of ourselves only when we open ourselves to support.

I am committed to providing a safe, truthful and compassionate space for you to feel welcomed where ever you are at. By shedding light on what is unconscious through the pathway of increased awareness, major transformation, healing and new neural connections can occur. I integrate traditional psychology tools and techniques along with deep and transformative work. Gently welcoming into our awareness that which we may be avoiding allows for more ease. This approach arises from my experience that lasting change occurs when our whole system is involved in the process of acceptance and change.

Dramatic change in just one session. - - A vastly improved life experience in 10 sessions or less. My approach is solution-focussed and clients can expect improvement in their situation with each session. Most clients require only 1-5 weekly sessions. Many also choose ongoing monthly/bi-monthly sessions to maintain momentum. The most frequent feedback I receive is that I have provided the 'aha' moment, which allows forward movement and upward growth in my client's lives. My clients also comment on how different it feels to have a counsellor who has personally worked through the same issues they are experiencing.

When your health changes, it can disrupt not just your body, but your sense of direction and grounding. I work with individuals navigating complex health challenges who are trying to make sense of life while managing ongoing symptoms. Therapy often centres on restoring balance between mental and physical health, rebuilding trust in the body, and creating a life that feels aligned despite medical uncertainty. My work focuses on digestive conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease and functional disorders like irritable bowel syndrome, where stress, symptoms, and identity can become deeply intertwined.

Do memories from your childhood still affect your life today—your confidence, your relationships, or even how safe you feel in the world? I help adults process childhood trauma using EMDR, a therapy that gently helps your brain release the weight of those experiences so you can stop reliving them. This isn’t about “just talking” or pushing through—it's about real, lasting change that you can feel in your daily life. If you’re ready to finally feel lighter, safer, and more in control, I have a few openings for private EMDR and talk therapy sessions.

I work from a client centered approach as the basis for our work together. We can then decide on which of the empirically supported approaches (or more likely which combination of approaches) is the best fit for you and your situation. The basis is a non-judgmental stance to what you face and designing a tailored, you-specific, empirically supported approach to help you gain a better understanding of your situation and more adaptive ways of managing or coping. I borrow from various approaches including client-centered, Cognitive-behavioral, Acceptance and Commitment, Mindfulness-based, Emotion focused, and insight oriented.

You may feel stuck in confusing, emotionally draining, or one-sided relationships — past or present. You might struggle with self-doubt, shame, people-pleasing, anxiety, or the lingering impact of emotional, antagonist or narcissistic abuse. Part of you wants clarity, peace, and confidence, yet another part feels overwhelmed, loyal, fearful, or unsure of your own perceptions. You want to feel grounded in yourself again, trust your instincts, break unhealthy patterns, and build relationships rooted in safety, respect, and authenticity. Even years later, we may want clarity on how these experiences are holding us back today.

You’re the one others depend on—capable, driven, and used to holding everything together. Yet inside, you may feel anxious, disconnected, overwhelmed, or close to burnout. You might notice patterns of perfectionism, over-functioning, people-pleasing, or coping through numbing, avoidance, or constant pushing through. A part of you longs to feel grounded, present, and at peace in your life, but slowing down doesn’t feel easy. Maybe you’ve tried talk therapy before and sensed that something is still missing. You continue to repeat patterns that no longer serve you, even while working hard to change them.

What happens in therapy for eating disorders?
In therapy for eating disorders, patients typically describe their eating and exercise behaviors, their patterns of eating in relation to stress, their beliefs about their body, the ways their eating behavior affects their relationships, and their desire (or lack of it) to change. Such information helps the therapist understand the origins of the disorder and the role it plays in the patient’s life, important for guiding treatment. Attitudes and feelings about food and eating, body weight, and physical appearance are common topics of discussion throughout treatment.

What therapy types help with eating disorders?
Once any acute medical or psychiatric emergency is resolved, psychoactive medication is often prescribed, requiring the supervision of a psychiatrist. In addition, patients receive some form of nutritional counseling along with one or more forms of psychotherapy. For adolescents, family-based treatment is empirically validated and considered the first line of treatment; parents and their children meet weekly with a clinician as the adults are coached on how to nourish and psychologically support the young patient. Adults typically receive some form of individual psychotherapy, intended to resolve the cognitive and behavioral disturbances that underlie the disorder and to relieve the mood disturbances that accompany it. In addition, patients may also be helped by group therapy.

What is the goal of therapy for eating disorders?
The most immediate goal of treatment for eating disorders is to save the life of people who are on a path of starving themselves to death or engaging in eating patterns that are doing irreparable physical harm to their body. Once the acute medical danger is past, therapy is required to understand the nature of the disordered eating and/or exercise patterns, establish healthy eating behavior, and to tackle the many erroneous beliefs and distorted self-perceptions that underlie eating disorders and continue to pose a threat to health and life. Therapy also addresses the impaired mood that not only accompanies eating disorders but intensifies the danger to health and life.

What are the limitations of therapy for eating disorders?
Therapy can be very helpful for eating disorders—but that can happen only after people recognize they have a condition that must be treated. Especially with anorexia, the distortions in self-image that accompany the disorder can keep people from acknowledging they have a problem. Individuals may in fact see their eating disorder as a badge of self-control. Those with binge-eating disorder may feel too ashamed to seek help. Therapy cannot help those who do not avail themselves of it.

How long does therapy last for eating disorders?
Because of their complexity, recovery from eating disorders is usually a long-term process—measured in months and years— often marked by setbacks and relapse. Some form of help, such as individual or group therapy, may be advisable for much of that time. It is a general rule of thumb that the longer the illness has endured and the dysregulated eating behavior has taken root, the longer treatment is likely to be needed.
