My approach to therapy is collaborative and holistic, and is intended to help you build a better, healthier relationship with yourself and others. We’ll work together to discover ways to heal from mental illness and cope with life’s challenges. I have years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults (including couples) as an educator and therapist. I help people deal with a variety of challenges (e.g., anxiety, OCD, depression); I am trained in individual trauma therapy, and I work with individuals to find meaning in life and live theirs to its fullest despite the adversity they may have experienced.

My clients are thoughtful, self-aware people who often feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck repeating patterns they can’t seem to shift. They’ve tried managing on their own but want deeper, lasting change—more calm, confidence, and ease in daily life. Many come to me when they’re truly ready to let go of old habits, fears, or self-doubt. Through clinical hypnotherapy, we work to calm the mind, regulate the nervous system, and reprogram subconscious patterns so you can move forward feeling lighter, clearer, and more at peace.

Being human is complex, and at times it can feel overwhelming to make sense of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. I strive to create a space to slow things down, gain clarity, and better understand what's getting in the way of living the life you want. My role is to help you identify unhelpful patterns, build emotional awareness, and move toward a way of living that is aligned with your values. Together, we'll explore these patterns and develop practical tools that support lasting change.

In my practice, I support clients who are experiencing anxiety, ADHD, trauma, depression, stress, work issues, life transitions and OCD. I also offer assessment and diagnostic services. Life can be hard sometimes, and my clients often tell me that they have so much going on in their lives that they're struggling to manage their emotions. Many of my clients identify themselves as being helpers and caregivers and are having a hard time finding balance in their lives. If you're tired of managing alone and want to find some peace or clarity in your life, or feel better emotionally, you've come to the right place.

Hi there and welcome to my profile! My name is Amanda, and I am a Nigerian Canadian with a deep love for all forms of art. As a dancer, movement has always been healing - a way to express, connect and discover my own voice. Today, I honour my story not only through movement, but through chapters of growth, and within spaces where I can support individuals journeying through life's challenges.

You feel overwhelmed—struggling to make sense of your emotions, relationships, or past experiences. Anxiety, self-doubt, or the weight of expectations can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself and others. Maybe you're navigating self-esteem challenges, body image concerns, or trying to find your voice in relationships. Maybe you’re working to break unhelpful patterns, manage overwhelming emotions, or heal from past wounds. You want clarity, confidence, and tools to move forward—but you’re unsure where to start. Good news: you don’t have to navigate these challenges alone.

Trauma disconnects and is a state of overwhelm. It's impedes our ability to trust ourselves, other people or in life itself. It comes from anything that is "too much, too fast" for us to "digest" our experiences. I work with you to build your interoceptive awareness ('your felt sense') and teach you somatic skills for self-regulation, which creates a sense of trust in your body's signals. We slow down enough to listen to your body's story and work with your primal survival energies (fight/flight/freeze/shock) to "complete", which restores a sense of confidence, ease and vitality.

The Centre for Psychodynamic Insights is a virtual clinic specializing in psychodynamic psychotherapy. This approach explores the root causes of symptoms by uncovering and understanding underlying emotions through evidence-based treatment. Through collaborative dialogue, we examine unconscious thoughts and emotions shaped from childhood to the present. We work to relieve symptoms by understanding how these patterns affect current experiences, and create targeted strategies for meaningful change long-term.

If you've been carrying something you can't quite put into words; anxiety that follows you into sleep, a weight that's been building for a while, or a sense that something needs to change but you're not sure where to start, you're in the right place. The people I work with are as varied as the things that bring them in. Some are men who've been managing on their own for too long and are ready to finally talk. Some are couples who love each other but can't seem to stop hurting each other. Some are individuals navigating trauma, grief, burnout, or a life that's shifted in ways they didn't expect.

Do you feel like your experiences are never bad enough to warrant support? Perhaps you’ve struggled with feeling, being triggered, responses that don't match the situation at hand, or even felt disconnected from everything around you. Everyone navigates life challenges, events and people that shape our understanding of ourselves, others, and the world. These impacts can be in everyday experiences, big traumas or smaller ones, and we often overlook them and their impact because we believe we can handle it on our own, it could’ve been worse, it’s not that bad, we don’t want to be a burden or because it’s all we’ve ever known.

You feel stuck, afraid, and anxious. You are also a capable person, carrying more than others may see. Many are professionals, entrepreneurs, caregivers, students, or high achievers who appear “fine” on the outside but internally feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, exhausted, or emotionally stretched thin. Some come to therapy during a crisis — burnout, relationship difficulties, grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, or life transition. Others arrive with a quieter question: Why do I keep repeating the same patterns? You want healthier relationships, stronger boundaries, confidence, emotional clarity and a sense of stability.
