I am a mature adult with a variety of life experiences, and am a Registered Art Therapist with the Canadian Art Therapy Association, and a Registered Psychologist in Alberta. I have over 10 years of experience in art and play based therapy, specifically for children, and particularly with traumatized children who have been physically, emotionally, mentally and sexually abused. I also have experience working with women and children who have left domestic abuse. In addition I work with adults who are still suffering the effects of childhood abuse. This includes forms of dissociative disorder. I also work with clients who are experiencing depression and anxiety.

There are meaningful ways to work through trauma, tackle challenging life circumstances, find yourself, and reconnect with what matters most. The good news is that this healing journey can be inspiring, empowering, and even enjoyable. Shaped by my own unexpected experiences as a mother, I offer steady, compassionate support through some of life’s most difficult, tender and transformative moments. I work with my clients to find growth, joy, and a life that truly feels their own. I am grateful to support children, adolescents, and adults, with a heartfelt focus on on trauma recovery, youth mental wellness, and perinatal mental health.

As a recovering people pleaser, I know what it’s like to show up for others while feeling unseen yourself. You feel stuck, unsure how to meet your own needs or express what matters to you. You want to understand yourself more deeply, feel more connected in your relationships, and make choices that reflect what matters to you. I work with people who are curious about why they think, feel, and react the way they do, and who are ready to turn that insight into meaningful change.

For example, that might mean the integration of IFS through a trauma focused lens or a more psycho-educational approach combining CBT & mindfulness to create strategies on managing ADHD.
Step in, lean in & get curious! I have had the luxury of working with humans across the mental health continuum for 15+ years. I work a little differently than you may have experienced. Step in... While I am clinically trained in evidence informed practices such as EMDR, Mindfulness, Gottman & IFS to name but a few. It's my unique ability to work with you on how these modalities will be tailored to meet your needs in that moment; and that might even differ from week to week! So bring on Anxiety, PTSD, Neurodivergence, CNM, Couples, Stress, Transitions, (Peri)menopause, Boundaries & Communication, Medicine Integration-I've got you.

It can be hard to find the right therapist since many of these profiles read the same! I offer an authentic approach and presence. Perhaps you have experienced trauma, grief, loss, burnout, or your relationships are not satisfying, which leaves you feeling stuck or unsure about the future? Perhaps you are feeling adrift and need someone to help you figure out what to do next? Sometimes our past experiences interfere with the present that requires extra support. Counselling can help you gain a better understanding of yourself, your relationships, and the changes you wish to implement to achieve further growth or healing.

It’s true – life is a balancing act. And so is psychological health. My aim as a psychologist is to help clients re-tune their nervous systems in a way that leads to greater independence and freedom from unnecessary suffering. How do we do this? To speak metaphorically, our brain/body systems function much like strings on a musical instrument – when each string is tuned, the instrument produces a resonant frequency; but when one or more systems is out of sync, the resonance of the whole system suffers.

As a Psychologist diagnosed with ADHD, I take pride in my ability to support others who are feeling isolated, different, or feel they are not measuring up to those they compare themselves too. We will work together to lower any shame, harmful self-criticism, and self hatred, and help you find ways to have acceptance and understanding to the person you are. I work best with those who are struggling to find self acceptance (i.e., Do you talk negatively towards yourself? Do you use harsh criticism to get yourself moving? Are you constantly feeling not good-enough? Are you experiencing burnout? Do you feel you have to be perfect?)

Hi there! My name is Rebecca and I'm a counsellor who works with adults in varying populations in their journey through self-evolution and empowerment. I'm especially passionate about working with first responders and the LGBTQ+ community. Being someone who identifies as queer as well as the offspring of a long line of first responders, I'm aware of the many hardships and barriers that exist on a daily basis for those belonging to these communities.

My experiences as a neurodivergent queer non-binary individual has informed my approach and perspectives on therapeutic work. I believe that therapeutic care has to acknowledge the systems and environments each individual exists within. I work in areas related to trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and neurodivergence. I am 2SLGBTQ+ informed, non-monogamy knowledgeable, and kink knowledgeable.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, whether it’s filled with excitement, hesitation, or somewhere in between. We all face times when life feels overwhelming-whether it’s trauma, feeling lost, or not feeling like ourselves. During these moments, reaching out for support is an act of strength and I am here to walk this path with you. I know first-hand how transformative it can be to feel truly seen and heard, and I aim to offer that kind of connection in every session. Together, we will work to build a relationship centred on mutual trust and connection to help support you on your journey through life.
