The resiliency of individuals who have experienced trauma in their childhood humbles me.
I specialize in working with adults who have experienced childhood trauma. Trauma can include: abuse, neglect, parents' divorce, family violence, medical procedures, bullying, difficult transitions, loss, and inconsistent parenting. What is traumatic for one individual may not be for another; this, however, does not make the experience any less significant.

As a psychologist I often hear "no one can help because no one understands!". Sometimes people feel overwhelmed and alone in the pain, fear and uncertainty. When chaos and crises are your daily reality, how do you manage? When you keep thinking about the horrible things that did or could happen, how do you stop? When you don't want to get up in the morning, how do you face the day? Honestly, I don't have all the answers but I have personally seen people find joy despite ongoing sorrow and I have seen tears and smiles coexist. I believe that with the right support, all people can explore how to find a sense of calm within the storm.

Is living a life you truly care about feeling out of reach due to broken sleep, overwhelm, negative thoughts, or other internal challenges? If so, we should connect! Like many of the individuals I support, you may be confused by some of what you are experiencing. You may have tried other strategies or therapy in the past, but you still feel stuck. Life is hard, but it doesn't have to be depleting.

You want 'it' to stop. Be it that small nagging feeling at the back of your mind, or something that has stopped you from living your life day-to-day. Whether you've already tried "pulling yourself up by the bootstraps", or you can't even express what you feel; 'it' persists. But it's not your fault.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, depression, trauma, and burnout, helping them understand the underlying patterns that keep them feeling stuck and develop practical strategies to restore balance, focus, and confidence in daily life.
Therapy provides a space to rebuild stability and create meaningful change. Together, we set realistic goals to reduce anxiety, restore functioning, and reduce executive dysfunction. I take a thorough, evidence-based approach that recognizes the connection between mind and body—how sleep, exercise, diet, and daily routines influence emotional health.

I have over 18 years of experience working with adults, children, youth and families around various issues including family relationships/conflict, parenting support, anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief.
Experiencing challenges in different areas of our lives is a human experience, and some of us find ourselves needing support as we navigate these difficulties. As a clinician, I believe that people are the experts in their own lives and have within them the strength and the capacity to enact change. I see that my role as a therapist is to help empower people to begin making those changes, to write their own life stories, to explore their own values and beliefs about how the world works, and to develop authentic fulfilling relationships.

When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
