Along with helping clients with issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, substance use and other mental health challenges, much of our therapy work falls into 1 of 5 areas: Parenting Support and Child/Adolescent Therapy • Men's Issues & Mental/Emotional Health • Relationship Health • Career transition and work-related counselling • Separation and Divorce.
Let's face it, life can feel unbearable at times and relationships and parenting are emotionally taxing. If you're reading this and this is your first time working with a psychologist, this is likely not a high moment for you. Rarely do clients start a session with, "My life is great! Things couldn't be better!" The reality is you're struggling, feeling lost and in pain, things are not going well for you or someone you care about, and we have entered the picture somewhere along the way. That you trust a therapist or anyone else enough to connect with you in that struggle is tough to do, and a responsibility we do not take lightly.

I specialize in men's issues, self-esteem, and neurodivergence.
Life can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re trying to navigate a world that wasn’t designed for your unique way of thinking. Maybe you’re discovering the complexities and strengths of neurodivergence, or you’re in the midst of a major life shift that’s challenging your sense of self. Anxiety, burnout, and self-doubt might be making it difficult to connect authentically with yourself and the people you care about. Deep down, you crave clarity, emotional ease, and the freedom to build relationships and a life that genuinely align with who you are.

In addition to supporting people with relationships, I have a focused interest in men's issues.
My specialized training draws upon the latest research on neuroscience, attachment, and arousal regulation. For relationships, we will work together in developing a greater sense of how to connect, communicate and get what you want. For individuals, we will work on developing your relationship with yourself based on your values and what matters most to you.

The concerns that I work best with are: couples counselling; anxiety; depression; general unhappiness; men's issues; panic; stress; trauma; and personal growth.
It can be difficult to go to counselling, particularly for the first time. Finding a therapist that you feel comfortable with is an important, and at times challenging, process. You likely want someone that can give you direction or tools, but also you connect with and feel supported by. I too feel this is important and strive to provide you with an experience that is both warm / caring AND competent/ knowledgeable. For many years I have worked with individual's and couple's concerns in this manner. I specialize in helping individuals or couples move forward, heal their pain, feel happier and find more peace.

Coming to therapy can be uncomfortable, especially for men. We're rarely taught how to talk about our feelings, or that it's even acceptable to share them. Whether as individuals, or as part of a couple, I provide an environment where you can talk openly, without shame or embarrassment. When working with couples, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) techniques to help partners improve their connection. I ensure that both partners feel safe, acknowledging that it's often male partners who feel the most vulnerable in therapy.

I see adult and adolescent clients from all sorts of different backgrounds, and who present with a variety of psychological concerns. However, I feel I’m especially well-suited to working with folks who are undergoing significant life change (e.g., job insecurity, divorce, bereavement, diagnosis, etc.), and who are experiencing anger, anxiety, or depression while traversing the flux. I’m also a keen advocate of mental wellbeing within a number of specific communities, including: veterans and first responders, men (cis and trans), LGBTQ+ folks, expatriates/immigrants, entrepreneurs, and people practicing consensual non-monogamy.

Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed or stuck in your head. Maybe the world just feels too loud, too fast, or like it was never really built with you in mind. You’re tired of masking, burning out, or trying to explain yourself in spaces that don’t get it. It’s like you’re always playing on hard mode—with no pause button. You’re juggling anxiety, identity stuff, sensory overload, or just trying to make it through the day without losing your last hit point. You want some calm, some clarity, and a space where you don’t have to be “on” all the time. Somewhere you can be real, rest, and figure things out without judgment. Why play solo?

I work with individuals who are looking to better understand their personal and social identity. Emphasis in the counselling field is often given to learning new thought patterns and coping skills. While I do this in my practice and find it effective, I also discuss the concept of 'unlearning' and its importance for growth, allowing us to create a new foundation which is centred on self-awareness. When we unlearn these 'autopilot' ways of responding to situations, we can create a reality where we are actively in the driver’s seat to create the lifestyle and connections that we find authentic, meaningful and long-lasting.

Do you want to change your life? Are you unsure what that means, or afraid of what it entails? Change can be scary, but you don’t have to do it alone. People describe me as someone who is warm, authentic, and accepting. My desire for you is that you don’t just manage symptoms, but that you get to the root of issues, find healing there, and experience deep, transformational, and lasting change – change that is not based on willpower, but change that is felt, experienced, and real. In working with me you may find relief, feel peace, begin to hope again, and enjoy life in a way you didn’t think was possible.

I am a fellow human being on a journey of learning, growing and healing. I have been supporting beautiful, messy and imperfect people through the ups and downs of life for over a decade. My goal is to provide you with an experience of feeling seen, heard and connected to a mental health professional who can provide a safe non-judgmental space. I see humans as whole (even if we feel broken) and it is through this safe therapeutic relationship we can open universes of possibilities like making sense of your experiences (and suffering), connecting with yourself and others with self-compassion, and learning research-based techniques.

Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.
How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.
What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
