In life, we can find ourselves challenged in ways we did not expect or anticipate. Life can become difficult and overwhelming to manage at times. In such moments, it can be helpful to seek support from someone who might help unearth possibilities and support you in finding healthier and adaptive ways to manage and cope. It is my belief that developing a strong, trusting, and collaborative therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone to therapeutic success. Through mutual respect, genuine empathy, and trust, individuals can be seen and heard, and encouraged to create the changes they want in their lives.

I specialize in helping adults, both individuals and couples, navigate burnout, trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, relationship and communication issues, breakups, low self-esteem, and related challenges.
I understand that starting therapy can feel anywhere from daunting to exciting, but know that I am here to help support you through the process. One thing I truly believe is that feeling heard, understood, and accepted is essential for healing. I've seen firsthand how powerful it can be when someone really gets you, and I strive to offer genuine connection in our sessions. I believe everyone experiences moments of feeling completely alone, overwhelmed, or without someone to talk to—I know I have. It is in the aftermath of trauma, or during times when we feel lost, trapped, or isolated, that seeking support becomes most crucial.

In my initial sessions, clients usually say, “I want someone that gets me.” This is a shared feeling; I also want my therapist to “get me” and connect with me. Hence, I use evidence-based approaches to build this connection with my clients, honoring their stories and enabling them to feel heard, unjudged, and respected. This alliance, I believe, is fundamental to the results we collaboratively attain in therapy. I work with children, teens, young adults, seniors, couples, and families from a person-centered, systemic, and strength-based lens.

I'll provide an open and inclusive space for you to be yourself, develop insight, and learn valuable strategies to improve your life and/or relationship.
You’re exhausted, trying to balance multiple responsibilities – work, relationship, family, social life, self-care, health– and running from a deep sense of "not enough" or unworthiness. You have a mind that rarely quiets, always planning, worrying, with insecure thoughts, or fear of letting others down. On the outside, you’re managing fine, but behind the mask that you put on for others, you’re struggling. Relaxing and feeling at peace seems wildly out of reach. Alternatively, you may be feeling disconnected or fighting more in your relationship. The busyness of life has taken over and it's been hard to make each other a priority.

Couples Counselling
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
