As a queer
woman
with ADHD, I'm passionate about anti-oppressive practice and providing a safe(r) space to welcome everyone.
Your journey is unique, and your therapy should be tailored to your needs and experiences. You can bring your whole self to our time together - laughter, tears, anger, joy, or grief, and the many layers of yourself. You want to be seen and heard, for someone to understand how much you've been through, and how desperately you want things to change. I support both individuals and couples, and specialize in supporting people in the queer community, neurodivergent folks, as well as those navigating stress, anxiety, and those nurturing their self-esteem and overcoming people pleasing patterns. All are welcome!

It is important as
women
and mothers we take the steps to care for ourselves, as we are being pulled in many directions throughout the day. As a parent, I was young, unprepared, and unsupported in challenges that I faced. This has led to my interest in supporting
women
and parents in their journey. I strive to empower all
women
to recognize the expectations that society places are not all attainable. You cannot be all of the things, all of the time, and it is okay to slow down and take care of you. I also specialize in working with teens and young adults who are struggling with pieces in life and transitioning to adulthood.

's Mental Health and love working with moms. Stress and anxiety are at an all time high and moms are telling me they're exhausted and overwhelmed with the mental load. They're navigating fertility challenges and losses, pregnancy, the birth of children, post-partum and parenting with few supports and often have kids who are struggling too. They're coping with a multitude of losses and are dealing with past or present traumas which impact all relationship dynamics but particularly those with their partner and kids. Reach out if you can relate and we'll work together to help make life more manageable right now.

I support clients to connect with their empowered selves, and to experience more freedom in their lives. This journey may take us into your shadows or wounds to unburden them, releasing what is no longer healthy for you, and connecting with things that bring you peace, joy, and a sense of curiosity in your life. Some approaches we may use include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, and Trauma-Processing techniques.

Female Counsellors
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
