I am a clinical psychologist who works with individuals and couples. Some have been struggling for a long time while others have lost their footing in the face of recent life stress. Change and growth happen when individuals feel that they are taken seriously, understood, accepted, and supported. In this context, my clients become more open, aware, and honest about the full range of their thoughts and feelings. Hope and courage grow as they face life's challenges. They learn new, flexible, and effective ways to think and respond, alter unhelpful patterns in relationships, and gain greater self-acceptance and resilience.

In challenging times such as those we are experiencing today, it is only normal to feel overwhelmed, anxious, angry and sad. Our world and the life we knew have changed. Some of us lost their jobs, some of us lost activities which were close to their hearts, some of us lost their dreams and plans, and some of us lost their loved ones. Covid-19 constitutes a universal struggle, and it also imposes additional distress for some of us who were already coping with mental health issues. While Covid-19 forces distance, you don't need to be alone with your pain. I believe that every struggle is also an opportunity for personal growth.

Looking for something different? Maybe traditional talk therapy wasn’t working for you. Art therapy utilizes creative expression – in any way you want and need it – to further explore thoughts and emotions. Combining counselling and art therapy, we are making the internal, external in a tangible way. Sometimes words aren’t enough to depict exactly how we are feeling, and that’s where art comes in.We have been using art throughout history to express trauma, events, and emotions.

Online therapy makes it possible to prioritize your mental health in a way that's convenient for you. Life can be difficult, and problems can take hold of us, so I work to help clients take back control of their life from the problem. In therapy clients can author a story that is empowering and authentic to who they are. I take a client-centred, affirming approach that helps you live the life you want to live.

Perhaps you are stuck in a loop of self-criticism. Maybe you feel you are never enough, not accepted, or that overwhelming past experiences will never leave you. You might be exhausted from carrying the guilt and shame you feel you can’t talk about. Difficult feelings can impact all aspects of life and limit your possibilities. As a Korean-Canadian Psychologist with many intersecting identities, I have experienced and understand the unique challenges many marginalized communities face. Your needs matter. Your experiences deserve to be recognized and honored. I will meet you with care and warmth to help you move toward healing.

Are you a gay man who is overwhelmed by the intensity of your feelings? Do certain situations feel triggering or remind you of a past trauma? It can feel unbearable when you’re just trying to keep it together, and hoping nobody notices when you start breathing rapidly, sweating, or shaking. Even between intense moments, there can be a low-level anxiety that feels like it’s always lurking, ready to take over at any time. Not to mention the shame about not feeling in control of your responses. The good news is that there are specific skills that can be learned to listen to your emotions and think about your past in a whole new way.

Self Esteem Counsellors
Self-esteem lives on a spectrum: Not enough self-regard (or low self esteem) can lead people to become depressed, or to tolerate abusive situations and relationships. Too much self-love (or high self-esteem), results in an off-putting sense of entitlement and an inability to learn from failure. And it's occasionally a sign of clinical narcissism. Quite the opposite of being shy or shyness, yet still on the same spectrum.
