I offer professional and compassionate help for women (and men) experiencing anxiety, worries & fear, self doubt, infertility, low self esteem , trauma, relationship difficulties, work stress, life transitions, grief and loss, compassion fatigue and burnout, the effects of narcissistic early parenting, and loving someone with a mental illness or addiction.
You are more than the sum of your troubles. You have strengths, challenges, underdeveloped parts, overdeveloped parts, a unique story, a past, a journey you are navigating and, most importantly, a path into a future that you are shaping either consciously or unconsciously. You are not merely a list of symptoms, whatever they may be. You are complex, layered and whole. My overall approach to therapy is about creating and holding a space to explore all the parts of you and all the things you find hard to say, but yearn to express. Therapy is a space to dive deep into what moves you, what matters to you, and reconnect to authentic you.

Life experiences can leave us in a total disconnect with who we truly are, experiencing life as burdensome and intolerable. Losing your grip on managing emotions? Depressive or anxiety experiences? Unpleasant feelings such as anger, rage, shame, or maybe not understanding exactly what's going on in your internal world? Maybe you have identified thinking styles and behaviours that work against you, or you experience a diminished self-worth, confidence, feeling stuck and struggling to move forward with the flow of your life? You are not alone, and we are here to help.

Are you and your partner easily triggered by each other, creating consistent conflict? Or have you stopped expressing what you feel and think, resulting in loneliness and disconnection? Have either of you communicated that you’re unhappy? Imagine if you could learn how to identify and work on your contribution in a relationship, share thoughts and feelings productively with another person, and listen non-defensively and with curiosity. It’s exciting when people take a risk to engage with others in a different way and feel good about the action they took.

As a registered psychologist, I have learned that children and families can thrive - even when facing overwhelming circumstances. I value the importance of human relationships in our children's mental health. We are wired for connection, and it is through secure relationships that we can heal, learn, and grow. Using research-informed and compassionate therapy, I help children and parents to build the capacity and growth to navigate their challenges. I also provide psychological assessments for developmental and learning issues. I am a passionate advocate for high-quality mental health care that is equitable and accessible to all.

*ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS * “ I can’t seem to shut my brain off”, “Why do I feel so anxious all the time?”, “ I actually don’t feel anything, I’m numb”. If any of these statements resonate with you and you want to explore them further I might be of help! I am a people person that truly believes in the power of human connection and therefore place a great importance on the right fit between a therapist and a client. My work is very much based on a collaborative approach because “You” know “You” the best. It’s important to me that you will feel comfortable and safe to explore and address any issues you are struggling with.

Being human is complex and at times, confusing. I want to help you see beyond your challenges, understand your mind & how it works, learn to tackle the tough stuff effectively, & meet your own needs while staying aligned with your values. Together we will identify what patterns are holding you back & develop the mindset you need to feel stronger, compassionate, accepting towards yourself & others. This includes things like perfectionism, people-pleasing, poor boundaries, & self-criticism. The longest relationship you will have is the one with yourself. You deserve for it to be a good one.

Self Esteem Counsellors
Self-esteem lives on a spectrum: Not enough self-regard (or low self esteem) can lead people to become depressed, or to tolerate abusive situations and relationships. Too much self-love (or high self-esteem), results in an off-putting sense of entitlement and an inability to learn from failure. And it's occasionally a sign of clinical narcissism. Quite the opposite of being shy or shyness, yet still on the same spectrum.
