A Type A personality describes people who tend to be more hard-driving, competitive, ambitious, impatient, perfectionistic, achievement-oriented, and a bit aggressive. Type B individuals tend to be more flexible, creative, and low-stress. The concept emerged from cardiologists who believed that Type A people may be more prone to heart disease; today, this model is seen as flawed and oversimplified, yet the framework can be helpful for some. This test can show where you fall on the spectrum.
This test is for anyone who wants to explore facets of their personality. It’s designed for adults and is not intended to be prescriptive.
If you think you’d benefit from exploring your intensity or ambition with a professional, finding a therapist may be beneficial. Search for one in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory.
