I help youth & adults address their mental health, behavior and emotions using nervous system regulation, body focused somatic therapy, experiential modalities (going deeper than "just talking") and professional relational rapport through a trauma focused lens.
Through a strength based, compassionate approach I can help you explore the origins and beliefs that are leading to your feelings, emotions and behaviour. Through learning about your mind and body connection, all your "parts", your nervous system & pieces of talk therapy, I want to encourage you to reach your desired area of health and wellness in all areas.

The main purpose of this process group is to provide a means through which relationships with significant others can be improved and enhanced. Group members often act out unresolved conflicts from early life experiences or traumatic events, within the safe confines of the group setting, which provides an opportunity for group participants to deal with these hurts or traumas which, in turn, enhances their interpersonal experiences and greatly improves their over-all quality of life. Resolving issues from the past, can change the present.

The ultimate goal in counselling is; to empower a person to reach their fullest potential in life. Counselling is especially important when a person is experiencing problems or difficulties which are affecting his or her quality of life. Lifestyle changes can cause tremendous fear and insecurity in people, especially for those who have unknowingly relied upon ineffective ways of coping with the everyday stresses of life. Turning to a competent and qualified therapist who can provide confidential support and advice about private worries or concerns at times of difficulty, can be most reassuring and helpful.

Men can benefit greatly from having emotional support and close friendships with other men. Yet, many have difficulty initiating this type of bond. Men need support just as much as everyone else but until recently, our society has encouraged them to repress their emotions and to solve problems alone. This in-person, open group offers a safe space for men to make strong connections and authentic friendships by getting to know other men who are looking to better their lives through counselling. Topics vary by week.

Are you or your teen struggling with confidence, self-esteem, or difficulty expressing emotions? Human beings are wired to connect socially, but fear of rejection, judgment and shame often prevent us from seeking support - even during times when we need it the most. Group therapy can be an important first step to help build connections. A group for adults and for teens is being offered separately to give participants opportunities to build communication techniques, express difficult feelings, and learn new ways of coping, along with team building exercises to build strong and trusting relationships.

Life has the tendency to throw us curveballs and sometimes we have the capacity to dodge them on our own, but other times we may be carrying too much and our ability to navigate it all begins to feel unmanageable. I believe that our early experiences and relationships have an impact on how we manage our lives today. My hope for you is that we connect some of those dots so that you might begin to understand yourself with a fresh perspective and use this new acceptance to work toward change. Along the way identifying things that may be getting in the way of achieving goals, building healthy relationships, and living a fulfilling life.

Not your typical therapist! AND definitely not your typical therapy session! I love helping people to make sense of what’s happened or keeps happening. I am a trauma & dissociation focused EMDR therapist/consultant/trainer that wants you to feel completely liberated from head to toe. I have decades of experience/training & a trunk full of strategies & approaches: parts work; somatic healing; attachment; expressive arts; and EMDR reprocessing to clear out all the dust bunnies that trauma can leave in its wake. We can get there together and maybe share a few laughs along the way.
