I empower young adults and women experiencing burnout, trauma, anxiety, and depression—especially those who are highly sensitive, creative, empathetic, or introverted.
It's possible to gain a renewed quality of life & find resilience. We can explore and experience the parts of the internal self through talk therapy as well as other modalities. An imaginative approach to therapy with verbal & non-verbal therapies may also be included if you desire... there is no expectation other than to simply show up and be yourself.
In this 6-week Live Online Mindful Self-Compassion course, you will learn some of the principles and practices of mindful self-compassion, so you can better relate to and care for yourself, both physically and emotionally. Research has shown that these techniques can help improve our emotional well-being, improve our ability to cope with life’s challenges, lower levels of anxiety and depression, promote healthy habits such as diet and exercise, and lead to more satisfying personal relationships. The course is a heartfelt, nurturing program to explore mindfulness and self-compassion. Information and registration at www.compassioninspiredhealth.com

Today as a society there are so many stressors that we have to deal with on an individual basis such as mental illness, trauma, struggles with addiction, work and relationship stress that can impact our overall ability to function and succeed. Going through any of these struggles alone is a near impossible task and I am happy that you are looking for someone to walk along with you through life's challenges.

Congratulations on making it this far! Issues with emotional regulation, interpersonal communication/skills, and problematic substance use can derail our best attempts at a satisfying life. Using an individualized and integrated approach of DBT and Talk Therapy with the cheer of Solution Focused, we can work together to understand how your biology, environment and psychology can be readapted to help reach your goals. There will be infographics and worksheets! (Yay?)

Many of the problems we experience in life can be traced back to parts of ourself that are wounded or not properly integrated. I help you to reflect and make sense of your experience, and to work through areas of your life that bring discomfort. In moving through these discomforts/stuck areas in a new way, you release these wounds, become free from their grasp & move into more aligned, embodied & authentic living. We cannot fully integrate (become whole in our life) unless we heal & integrate all parts - including shadow work, healing parental and childhood wounds, ego work, sacred sexuality, reprogramming belief systems etc.
Women are being called to reconnect to their power and their feminine energy which includes their intuition, collaborative intelligence and ways of knowing. I created this group to bring women together to experience the power of the feminine, to share their stories, and to experience connection through healing rituals, poems, song and meditation. When women heal themselves in a community of other women they can uplift, empower, and inspire others. The Women's Healing Circle is an educational and process group that runs for six consecutive Wednesday or Thursday evenings. Date: TBA Location: Nanaimo, BC.

I specialize in trauma as well as the resulting grief, anxiety, depression, and addictions that may have developed. I am passionate about helping women understand that the coping mechanisms that evolved were functional and helped you survive in times of difficulty. These may now show up as patterns that hold you back and cause you to think, feel, and behave in ways that no longer serve you. I believe everyone has the capacity to heal and the ability to learn new skills to become free of overwhelming fear, anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction.

Although I am also a couples counsellor, I work primarily with those who have experienced trauma. Trauma is the experience of being emotionally and psychologically overwhelmed and overcome for weeks, months, or years by adverse childhood experiences and adult traumatic events. My focus is always on the present and a hopeful future - how can those debilitated by anxiety, shame, poor self-worth, child sexual abuse, c-PTSD and PTSD, and dissociative disorders including Dissociative Identity Disorder, become healthy enough to meet their own needs for income, housing, affirming relationships, and wellness - physical, emotional AND mental

As we move through life, we develop familiar ways of coping. Some phases of life bring challenges that begin to exceed our ability to handle them using our regular coping strategies. Emotional ups and downs, outbursts of anger, withdrawing or relationship conflicts can be some of the clues that your coping strategies are overwhelmed. You might also notice disorganization, anxiety and depression, low self-esteem, overthinking or a racing mind that makes it hard to rest or sleep even when you have time to take a break. You may be quite hard on yourself, and if you feel criticised or misunderstood by others it can add fuel to the fire.
Being a caregiver for people with an illness or disability is extremely challenging and exhausting. This is a space place to share thoughts and feelings about being a caregiver. Can send zoom link if interested.
