Activating in Nature

Activating in Nature is a 6-week group held outdoors at the Ottawa Arboretum. Designed for adults navigating life transitions, the program blends mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and nature and forest therapy. Each session provides space to slow down, connect with nature, and explore practices that support psychological flexibility, living in alignment with values, and taking meaningful action. Participants will gain tools to be more present, strengthen resilience, and build supportive connections with others.

Mindfulness-Based Symptom Management Program
Mindfulness-Based Symptom Management (MBSM) is an 8-week small group program designed for adults living with chronic health conditions, including pain, fatigue or anxiety. Developed through the Ottawa Mindfulness Clinic and supported by research, MBSM combines weekly guided mindfulness practices, nervous system education, and practical strategies for responding to symptoms with more ease. Sessions are two hours each week, with an additional half-day retreat. I have taught this program for over 10 years and have seen its benefits for many clients. Please reach out to discuss whether MBSM is a good fit for you and funding options.

The Resilient Nature Therapy Program
This small-group program is designed for individuals living with PTSD who are looking to gently reconnect with themselves, others, and the world around them. Integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and nature and forest therapy, sessions take place outdoors in a supportive and structured environment. Participants are guided through practices that support nervous system regulation, present-moment awareness, and gradual re-engagement with community and meaningful activity. Many participants experience increased comfort leaving the house, improved well-being, and renewed connection to nature and daily life.
