Opioids WORK. For me, it's the difference of bedbound, out of my mind, suicidal level pain levels ---- and able to get out of bed, fix food, bathe, even work a few hours a week. My pain levels and condition has been stable for 10 years and I've been on opioids for more than 15 years. The reason I wasn't stable before? Because in all their attempts not to give me opioids, or to increase my dosage, they threw the whole medication cabinet at me. Once they finally just gave me the dose of opioids I needed to manage my pain - viola.
