Many young women who want to understand better how to manage their lives choose psychology. They are often not well prepared for quantitative courses, so they may do the minimum in this area. Most certainly psychology has lessons for those majoring in it, particularly the evolutionary psychology research. But that does not translate in salaries. Certainly some people do very well, but most undergraduate psychologists end up in unrelated fields. To be a professional, a doctorate is needed, and there is congestion at that level also. Women in particular should be advised to choose another field.
