if apology is wanted, that is ok. plus, apologies on the nation/history/culture/race scale and individual apologies are entirely different cups of tea imo.

if i were a victim of rape, for example, i personally wouldn't need or want some former perpetrator(s) to validate me as a person or to validate their wrongdoing to my personhood.

quite contrary, i would see it as his/her/their attempt to get me invalidated again that has self-serving ends for perpetrator(s), plus a touch of stalking, combined with a heavy dose of sociopathy and narcissism and need to make me perpetual victim as i don't exist or have never existed before, now or after, beyond that rape by some pathetic creatures.

and in most cases, i would be right.
