I have read several articles today putting forth the notion that smokers may be at less risk for contracting the virus. Further studies need to be done to draw any sound conclusions. In my opinion if this claim holds some truth it would be more positive if it was not the nicotine resulting in the decreased rates of contraction as conjectured in some of these articles but had more to do with the the act of smoking which could relate to the claims outlined in this article.
