Exactly. What a beautiful example.
So many of us feel helpless in the face of suffering. We want to DO something, fix it, make it better. But you had the compassion and wisdom to know that the best we can do is to simply sit with a person, and, when they are ready to talk, listen. This is not always easy, but as you say, it's an honor.
