It seems that it's possible avoidant pd could be confused with high functioning autism spectrum disorder and vice versa. If a person with avoidant pd never learns social skills does that mean they can develop some kind of asd? Asd is a disorder of development and not personality. But if you were avoidant in early childhood wouldn't it be possible to develop in the way the same as a child who has asd and present with the same difficulties? I just find it confusing, and think there is some link here in some cases.
