This is just a correlation. Simply focusing on savouring pleasant experiences is not a long lasting strategy for happiness. When things change, all the attachments that were built on that savouring would have to go and that can be extremely painful. This is where mindfulness can be so much more effective because mindfulness is about wisdom applied to situations in life – the wisdom of enjoying the moment, but also knowing that good times come and go and bad times also come and go and additionally knowing that even relationships can change and end anytime.
