We must pay attention to what's going on in Paris—and everywhere else, including Hollywood because otherwise the ones who are bullies and loudmouths and screamers and righteousness-grabbers will wipe us all out or, at the very least, shut us all up.

Once the ability to speak satirically is erased—or muted, or driven out by fear or by threats—then we've given up one of the most powerful weapons those with intelligence can wield or master.

Time to quote Mark Twain: "For your race, in its poverty, has unquestionably one really effective weapon—laughter. Power, Money, Persuasion, Supplication, Persecution—these can lift at a colossal humbug (push it a little, crowd it a little, weaken it a little, century by century). But only Laughter can blow it to rags and atoms at a blast. Against the assault of Laughter nothing can stand."
