To get this blog started, and coincidentally, on the eve of my next trip to China, I'd like to point interested readers to a recent Op-Ed that I published in the China Daily, the official English language newspaper. Some U.S. readers reflexively wonder what and how much was censored etc.  The answer is, nothing. In fact, I was asked whether I could expand the article. Health policy is not one of the political no-go areas. On the other hand, what this all means in terms of potential health policy initiatives dealing with the mental and medical needs of 1.5 billion people in the PRC, is anyone's guess.
