Most Christmas songs are cheery and happy. For many people, however, the holidays are difficult, and can lead to increased depression and anxiety. It seems like all the holiday songs talk about how much this is the "most wonderful time of the year".  However, holidays can also remind people of loss.  I think the song "River" by Joni Mitchell, from her album Blue, is a great Christmas song that deals with grief and loneliness during the holidays.
