Last week, Melanie, one of my college student patients told me about an over-the-top Vogue article she read in the current issue. The piece was about a mom who put her seven-year old daughter on a diet. Melanie thinks that it will be a miracle if this young girl doesn't develop an eating disorder. Melanie said "it took much more subtle pressure from my dad to keep my weight down to set me up for my eating disorder." Check out these websites for more information. If you subscribe to Vogue, please let them know how dangerous these kinds of stories can be.
