Trauma Focused Support Groups in Greater Melbourne (Metropolitan), VIC

Recovering from an injury affects far more than the body — it can shift your identity, confidence, and sense of direction. This 10 week small group program supports the emotional side of recovery, helping you rebuild self trust, reconnect with purpose, and navigate the changes an injury brings. After experiencing my own career ending hand injury, counselling helped me reshape my path and regain a sense of self. Now I support others doing the same. With four participants per group, you’ll have space to talk, process, and rebuild in a supportive environment. New groups begin each month.

Do you feel weighed down by emotional wounds from your past? Many Christian women experience the lasting impact of growing up without vital love or support. This can manifest as people-pleasing, self-doubt, or low self-esteem, affecting your relationships and sense of self. These family of origin issues often spill into everyday life. I've created a women's support group in Ballarat—a safe, faith-based space for healing, connection, and transformation. You don't have to carry this alone. Email: mav.wholesomecounsels@hotmail.com.

After completing the Complex Trauma/cPTSD Basics to Recovery, or a similar program, you might want to attend the advanced program for further monitoring and support to make your road to recovery even shorter and smoother. As you will have made some necessary changes for your health and well-being to emerge, your world will start to be different, especially because your relationships with people will improve or fall away if they were too unhealthy to fix. You will learn what to look out for, how to navigate these changes in future and you will be supported on the way.

The transformative journey from conception and throughout pregnancy to motherhood is a process known as 'matrescence'. It is a time when mind, body and spirit go through an awakening. Pregnancy circles support you to follow your own instincts to authentically reflect on this developing part of your identity and its impact on your wellbeing. Birth story circles hold a safe and trauma-aware space for sharing and de-briefing about birth. A place where you can be vulnerable in releasing emotions if you choose and feel understood in a respectful and non-judgemental way.

The diagnosis of Complex Trauma/Complex PTSD has been in mainstream Psychology less than 10 years. Specific treatments are therefore new/underdeveloped. This program employs a model developed from the available research and literature and my 15 years of clinical experience working with adults with backgrounds of childhood trauma. I invite anyone who has undergone adverse childhood experiences, and felt unsupported through them, to join others experiencing similar challenges in understanding the most fundamental cPTSD presentations, learning about and practicing strategies which promote healing and recovery. Optional individual sessions included for extra support. Introduction bookings/intake happening now for March.

This group is for those who grew up unaware of their real biological parents. You may have been adopted, donor-conceived or raised by a parent who you don't have a biological connection to. If you have not learnt the truth about your arrival into this world as a child, this discovery later in life can be one of the most profound experiences one can go through. Having a safe and understanding place to share your story and talk about what you are going though could really help to process your discovery. 4-6 participants.
