Azmaira H. Maker, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and the author of Family Changes: Explaining Divorce To Children and Where Did My Friend Go? Helping Children Cope With a Traumatic Death. Dr. Maker is the founder of Aspiring Families, Center for Mental Health and Wellness in San Diego, and has over 20 years of experience working with children and families. She is an expert in loss, trauma, child development, parenting, and psychotherapy. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Vassar College and completed her doctoral training at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
