I discovered both the joys and the true potential of effective counselling when I began working as a Case Manager for an Adelaide based VET sector provider. Being a resource person for a diverse cohort of students aged 18-64 opened a window on the barriers they faced, from challenges related to language, ability and socio-economic factors to mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. In this role I learned to identify the things that hold many of us back and to focus on finding ways to move forward such as developing strategies for self-managing negative or unhelpful thoughts.
My approach is essentially person centred and solution focused and, therefore, all about YOU. My role is to create a safe space for you to uncover a viable path out of the places you no longer wish to be. In particular, I have an interest in assisting those struggling with anxiety, depression and grief and loss.
