I am an AHPRA registered clinical psychologist, qualifying with my Doctorate in 2017. Prior to this, I worked as a corporate lawyer in NZ - which is where I am originally from. I am passionate about supporting 1) parents to increase their confidence and enjoyment in the parenting role 2) professionals and students with issues such as stress/burnout and challenging workplace environments 3) individuals regarding identity, neurodivergence and interpersonal issues and 4) individuals adjusting to big life changes including chronic pain/illness and migration. I can also support with anxiety, low mood, trauma, sleep, grief/loss and more.
I have experience working in child-specific and adult-specific public services and private clinics. I use a range of therapy modalities, depending on the client's individual needs and goals. I love helping clients to gain new insights and learn helpful skills/strategies to bring about change. I primarily work with adults but can also support young people.
I know it takes courage to seek help and talk about very personal issues. I work in a collaborative, authentic, neuroaffirming and holistic way that ensures clients feel seen, heard and respected. I encourage you to contact me to see if we could work well together. Please email me or visit my website, Discern Psychology, for more information.
