Taking the first step to seek help takes courage. It's a vulnerable feeling. You are here, perhaps, because you are feeling stuck, in a fog, or caught up in a storm. Or you simply recognize you want something to shift. Whatever landscape you find yourself in, I believe you are the key to your own transformation. You have gotten yourself this far. I'm here during this chapter of your journey to offer you support and my knowledge as a trauma-certified therapist. There will be collaborative nonjudgmental curiosity as we steadily explore parts of your story.
To survive and protect yourself from harm and hurt, your brain had to disconnect from yourself, from the world around you, and from the present moments. The experience of this is traumatic, and it is stored in your body. We will begin by establishing safety, and eventually reconnection - to yourself, to others, and to the present.
Healing and transformation begins when self-compassion begins. If having self-compassion is hard at first, that's ok. I will be that compassionate and empathetic witness to your story until you are able to be that for yourself. I invite you to come as you are.
