Current and past clients experienced grief and loss, varying degrees of anxiety and depression, or relationships that aren't quite working. Many come to me at a crossroads: navigating illness, adjusting to a life that looks very different from what they'd imagined, or working through early experiences that still shape them in ways they're only beginning to see. I work with individuals, couples, and families, adults at any life stage, including older adults. I warmly welcome LGBTQI+ and culturally and linguistically diverse clients. My clients share a commonality - a willingness to look inwards, and from that, grow towards life.

I am EMDR trained and I have a keen interest in working with individuals experiencing relationship difficulties, helping people who have experienced trauma, women's issues and young adults and older adults who are experiencing significant life transitions.
I am a Clinical and Counselling Psychologist, and have experience working with clients across the lifespan. I work with adolescents, young adults and adults to help them in understanding themselves and others. Deciding to access counselling is often a big decision and it can take a while to find a psychologist that you feel safe, comfortable and at ease with, someone "who really gets you" so to speak. I am able to work with clients who are experiencing mild to acute mental health issues and have experience working in a more acute inpatient setting.

It is common to feel anxious or stressed in these situations and supportive counselling with me can help you explore what is contributing to the problem and what can lead to the positive change you are seeking.

I love being a psychologist. It’s a genuine pleasure and joy to work with people, to be invited to hear about their lives, their challenges and what they want for themselves. In working with people, I’m interested in tailoring therapy to each individual client. I recognise that every person has their unique way of being in the world and way of looking at the world, and so will have their own needs and wants in how therapy will work for them.

Reconnect with yourself and restore inner steadiness.
Create a more balanced way of living—where your energy is steady, your needs matter, and life begins to feel more joyful again.
Many women reach a point where the way they’ve been living is no longer sustainable—for their energy, wellbeing, or the life they’re ready to step into.
I support women to unwind patterns of overgiving and self-abandonment shaped by trauma, conditioning, or difficult relationships—often leading to burnout.
This work builds awareness, self-compassion, and a stronger internal foundation so you can relate to yourself in a way that feels safe and grounded.

Hi, I’m Claire, a Clinical Psychologist with 20 years of experience. I work with adults who feel stuck in the effects of trauma and are wanting support to move out of survival mode and into a sense of calm, safety, and connection. My approach goes beyond talk therapy alone to support deeper, lasting change.
I help gently process traumatic experiences such as relationship trauma, sexual abuse, and physical assault that still feel present in the body and emotions. You may be impacted by trauma if you have been feeling emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, on edge, or disconnected from yourself and your life.

I'm a counsellor who has specialised in psychosexual therapy. Many of the women I work with feel disconnected from their sexual selves. They may be experiencing painful penetration, low desire, difficulty reaching orgasm, or struggling with body image and self-esteem. These challenges are often shaped by deeper emotional patterns and beliefs around sex and the body. My approach is gentle, collaborative, and grounded in schema therapy, viewed through a feminist lens. I offer a non-judgmental space to explore what’s going on beneath the surface and how these might be impacting your relationship with your body, sexuality, and intimacy.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realised.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
