Many people reach midlife sensing that something has subtly shifted. You may still be functioning well in work and relationships, yet stress lingers longer, sleep is lighter, patience shorter, and recovery no longer happens as easily as it once did. As a registered counsellor, I help people understand how stress and nervous system strain affect mood, energy, and clarity. Rather than simply managing symptoms, our work focuses on restoring regulation and rebuilding capacity. If this sounds familiar, you’re welcome to reach out for an exploratory conversation.

I have enabled people to connect with their meaning and purpose in life and find an acceptance of their own uniqueness, assisting people with struggles ranging from thoughts of suicide, anxiety, existential angst, complex trauma and relationship difficulties. I believe that the therapeutic space is a space where people can work through the things in life that hold them back from thriving rather than surviving. Childhood trauma and family dynamics/narratives that have defined us can be processed and redefined to offer us freedom to exist as we want to.

Parents may be worried about a child struggling with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, neurodivergent needs such as ADHD or autism, or the stress of family change, like separation or divorce.
I specialise in neurodivergent families including ADHD, autism and AuDHD, and support concerns such as anxiety, OCD related behaviours, parenting challenges, trauma and relationship difficulties. My approach is family-focused and trauma-informed. When working with children I begin with a parent-only session to understand the family system and plan support

I work with children, adolescents, couples, and families who may be feeling overwhelmed, navigating life transitions, or experiencing stress, trauma, or relationship challenges. Many clients are balancing busy lives, family responsibilities, or FIFO-related pressures, and are looking for a space to pause and reset. They often come when things begin to feel heavy - whether that’s anxiety, emotional reactivity, or disconnection. Together, we create a supportive space to slow things down, make sense of what’s happening, and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and connection.

I enjoy helping my clients put the puzzle pieces together in understanding how you have become you. I enjoy working with older adolescents (age 15+) and adults struggling to build and/ or maintain relationships potentially due to challenges in childhood. Additionally, I enjoy supporting people who have lived through traumatic experiences to make sense of the world after these experiences and reduce the load of carrying it around.

My training and experience in various issues such as family and relationship dynamics, interpersonal issues, grief and loss, family and domestic violence, various forms of trauma, depression, anxiety, parent-teen conflict and migration enables me to empathize with my clients, making them feel heard and understood.
In the area of couples counselling, I provide pre-martial support, uncoupling (which can include assisting with coming up with agreements for custody matters and asset separation). This option is only for clients who are amicable but would like to support from a neutral person to facilitate an agreement and strengthening the partnership/marriage.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
