Especially when anger or fears are high and hope low.
Our relationship will be an important part of the therapy - a safe place where, among other things, you can try trusting and saying no. I’ll accept you as you are – even, or especially, when you’re not accepting yourself. I’ll encourage you to take emotional risks and to experiment with new behaviours, so you can gradually reclaim your power and freedom.

At times we all feel anxious, stuck, lost, alone or empty. Sometimes it is fleeting, sometimes it stays for a while and sometimes it seems it is never going to leave. No two people are the same and I am committed to a collaborative approach towards understanding you and find a pathway to best resolve your emotional difficulties. I draw on a range of psychological treatment approaches including Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Eye Movement Densensitisation and Reprocessing, and Internal Family Systems. I recently have completed training in Deep Brain Reorienting to process lingering shock from trauma.

Hi, I am a warm, informal and collaborative Clinical Psychologist working with adolescents (12+) and adults. Many people seek therapy feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck in unhelpful patterns, struggling in relationships, or feeling that something just does not feel quite right. Others want to better understand themselves, make sense of difficult experiences, or understand why life feels harder than it should. I particularly enjoy working with teen girls, neurodivergence (ADHD & Autism), relationship difficulties, trauma, and people who may find it hard to open up or have not found therapy helpful in the past.

The ideal client is the one who is willing to bring their whole self into the therapeutic space. Firstly, they probably just want to feel better - and that is fair. Therapy usually starts right there in the very practical ground of alleviating distress. For some that is enough. Others, may want to continue the journey of personal growth to further explore patterns of behaviour and any obstacles that stand between them and their greatest potential.

There's anger that shows up out of nowhere, a relationship that's slowly falling apart, a sense of drifting, or a low-grade dissatisfaction that doesn't go away.
No man's land is the space between who you are and who you know you could be. Most blokes stay there for years because nobody ever showed them the way out. I help men find theirs. We look at the patterns, build the gap between reacting and responding, get clear on what actually matters to you, and work on communicating without things blowing up.

I’m a registered psychologist with experience supporting children and adolescents through both counselling and assessment. I've worked extensively in the education system since 2012 and take a strengths-based and collaborative approach, working alongside young people and their families to build understanding and capacity. I believe in creating a space that is genuine, safe, and relaxed — somewhere it’s okay to be vulnerable, ask questions, laugh, and develop new ways of responding to life’s challenges.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
