You've done the work. You can name your patterns, explain where they came from, and describe exactly what they cost you. That understanding is real. It just hasn't changed how you feel, and that gap — between knowing and feeling — is where most talk therapy stops. I'm a psychotherapist with a Master of Psychotherapy and Counselling from Western Sydney University and membership with the Australian Counselling Association. I work with high-functioning women who are not new to therapy and are still stuck somewhere insight doesn't reach.

Kylie is particularly known for her down-to-earth, non-judgmental style. She works with adults whose confidence and sense of self have been shaken by a life change or by discovering their mind works differently. She helps them feel solid again. Life change may include illness, burnout, relationship strain, career transition, relocation, or adjusting to a diagnosis. Some people seek support when anxiety or low mood begins affecting their functioning. Others are exploring neurodivergence, such as ADHD or autism, as part of understanding long-standing patterns. Kylie tends to think differently and can offer unique perspectives.

I have been working in this space for over 15 years, predominately with adults who struggle with knowing what type of relationship they want with self and/or others. Part of your journey is understanding what outcomes are most suited to you and your unique circumstance, be it change, growth and development, or to dissolve a relationship or to assist in making a key decision moving forward. The techniques used will assist in finding what is needed to feel more secure within self, or in a relationship and works to differentiate those individual needs, creating a more secure attachment. If this resonates with you, book in a time.

Welcome, I'm Kel. Whether in person or online, sharing the most vulnerable parts of yourself can feel daunting. I know, because I've been there too. That's why I want you to know who I am and how I can support you, before we even meet, so you can arrive with your mind and heart a little more at ease. I believe you don't need to be "fixed" because you were never broken. Life is messy, relationships are complex, and feelings are big, that's not a problem to solve, it's the human experience that we all navigate. Understanding who we are at our core so we can decide what parts of us to let go, and which to water and grow is key.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
