‘Poiesis’ - Deriving from Ancient Greek poiein ("to make"), signifies the act of creation, production, or "bringing forth" something into existence that did not previously exist. It represents a transformative process, often used in philosophy to describe the emergence of a 'thing', from the void into form (various sources).

I draw on a range of psychological treatment approaches including Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Eye Movement Densensitisation and Reprocessing, and Internal Family Systems. I'm an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and EMDR therapist offering long-term, depth-oriented individual therapy for adults. Using EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS), I work with clients to explore how early experiences and relationships shape present-day emotions, patterns, and difficulties — and to gradually process and integrate what's been carried for a long time. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in social work values. Alongside complex trauma, I have particular interests in perinatal mental health and adjustment to parenthood, and in grief and loss across life transitions.

Hello, my name is Kendall. I am a queer sex and relationship therapist working exclusively online with the queer community. The majority of patients that I work with are AFAB, and of the sapphic persuasion, identities vary however I do work a lot with trans and NB folk. Individuals come to me for a variety of reasons from navigating their first queer relationship, sexual anxiety, coming to terms with their gender, realising they are some form of queer and unsure as to what to do about it. Couples are often seeking a queer therapist that simply 'gets it' to help navigate their queer relationship.

You're capable, self-aware, and you've done a lot of living — but somewhere along the way, things stopped feeling right. My clients are often professionals navigating workplace stress and burnout, women in midlife renegotiating identity through perimenopause and menopause, and people who keep noticing the same patterns in their relationships and want to understand where they come from. Many are holding everything together for everyone else while quietly struggling inside.

I work with teens (16+) and adults who feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or disconnected from themselves and their lives. Many of the people I support struggle with perfectionism, burnout, overthinking, self-criticism, people pleasing, or feeling “not good enough.” I also have a special interest in eating disorders, trauma, and neurodivergence. Therapy can be a space to slow down, better understand yourself, build emotional safety, and reconnect with the life you want to live.

I am an experienced trauma-&IFS-informed therapist. I work well with people who are ready to do 'the work'. I briefly bring strategies that can be useful to your everyday life initially, relying on modalities such as mindfulness and polyvagal theory, before moving into deeper work based in Internal Family Systems (IFS), if and when the time is right. I assist/guide you to reveal and heal the parts of you that carry thoughts, feelings and behaviours that no longer serve you. It is not always doom and gloom. We work together light-heartedly to safely reveal your unconscious motivations and inner strength, towards lasting healing.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realised.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
