I love being a psychologist. It’s a genuine pleasure and joy to work with people, to be invited to hear about their lives, their challenges and what they want for themselves. In working with people, I’m interested in tailoring therapy to each individual client. I recognise that every person has their unique way of being in the world and way of looking at the world, and so will have their own needs and wants in how therapy will work for them.

I specialise in ADHD Assessment and therapeutic intervention. My work focuses on diagnostic assessment and treatment for neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and Autism in school-aged children, teens, and adults. My assessments are not only informed by interviews but also by testing that makes comparisons with people of similar age and gender to help inform whether the behaviours represent "full" ADHD, autism, only traits of the condition, or are masking other areas of concern. On a personal note, I am a sport's tragic, with a passion for Australian cricket and for the St. George-Illawarra Dragons NRL team.

You might be someone who looks like they’re coping on the outside, while internally feeling exhausted by your thoughts, your relationship with your body, or the pressure you put on yourself. Perhaps you spend a lot of time thinking about food or your appearance, constantly comparing yourself to others and wondering whether you’re “doing enough” or “good enough." You may feel disconnected from who you are, or know that you don't want to keep feeling this way but aren't sure where to start.

Counsellor, PACFA
Sorrento, WA 6020
I offer therapy sessions in-person as well as online via Zoom.
Insightful therapy, helping you heal childhood wounds, live freely in the present, and rewrite your future. You might be feeling disconnected from yourself, like you’re just going through the motions, functioning on the outside but carrying anxiety, self-doubt, or a constant sense of not being enough underneath. You might find yourself stuck in the same patterns such as people-pleasing, struggling to set boundaries, or feeling overwhelmed in relationships. These struggles are often rooted in early experiences like childhood emotional neglect, attachment wounds, or long-held beliefs that your needs don’t matter.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
