I practice a unique blend of clinical and organisational psychology. My therapy sessions are conversational, personal, playful, and guiding. Therapy is about a client and a psychologist starting from an idea: That things could be better. Maybe by a lot, maybe just by a little; either way, something worth working for. Something that justifies facing challenges, shaking things up, taking some risks. As a therapist I don't pretend to know all the answers. My skill is to ask the right questions.

Are you feeling emotionally exhausted or stuck in old patterns despite your best efforts? For many adults life transitions, accumulated stress, and unresolved trauma can quietly build up, leaving you feeling anxious, low and disconnected from yourself. I work with adults navigating long standing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, low self-worth, childhood trauma, emotional neglect and burnout. If you're feeling overwhelmed, irritable, numb, or constantly “on,” these are often signs of a nervous system stuck in survival mode.

My name's Britt, and I’m so glad you're here. 'Maitrī' is a Sanskrit word meaning unconditional friendship and loving-kindness – a deliberate practice of compassion, non-judgment, and goodwill toward oneself and all others. This principle is at the heart of my work. I see healing as a process of re-integration, whereby – with maitrī – we bring all hurt or disowned parts of ourselves back into wholeness, and remember how to be our own best friend. I trust in your innate capacity for this kind of healing and seek to work as a guide, supporting you to reconnect with the wisdom, warmth, and presence already within you.

Having spent more than a decade working through my own lived experiences, including anxiety, panic attacks, addiction, what some might label as ADHD, and an eating disorder—I’ve come to see the immense power we each hold inside; the power to heal and to evolve.
I feel especially drawn to working with deep thinkers, sensitive souls, and the so-called “black sheep”—those who often feel like outsiders, yet carry profound insight and depth. I aim to create a therapeutic space that’s collaborative, curious, and grounded in presence, where all parts of you are welcome and nothing needs to be performed. I focus on areas such as chronic stress, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationships, and personal and spiritual growth. I have a particular interest in men’s wellbeing and creating safe, supportive spaces for men to explore their emotional health, as well as women, teens, and couples.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
