You might be longing for a safe place to talk about what matters most to you —your feelings, your relationships, or how to live more authentically. Many of the people I see have had recent feelings of anxiety, reactivity, or disconnection, some carrying painful memories from their past. Others who see me are looking to build closer emotional connections, express themselves more freely, or explore their identity and creativity. Some are in non-traditional relationships and value a therapist who can meet them with openness and respect. My clients often share a hope of feeling more connected, grounded, and true to themselves.

The Person Centred approach starts from a position that you are the expert in your own life, Narrative Therapy validates your story, in your words as a means of healing, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy supports your inherent capacity to adapt to difficult circumstances and Solutions Focussed Therapy uses your insights into your experiences to discover realistic self-empowering choices.
Mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, identity, grief & trauma and substance abuse can be especially unique and difficult for those who are Neurodivergent. This is especially true for those diagnosed on the spectrum of Autism, ADHD and AuDHD much later in life, who may be struggling to make sense of this new understanding. This can present a challenge to find support that understands different needs for access, processing, recovery and integration.

I am experienced in mental health, trauma, addiction and relationships and predominantly utilise Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Somatic Experiencing through office-based, nature-based and animal assisted spaces.
A Space to Feel Heard Often we get caught up focusing on life, friendships, family or work that our own wellbeing can take a back seat. We can forget that if we’re not taking care of ourselves, we run the risk of burning out, becoming unwell or begrudging our responsibilities. This can result in feelings of numbness, as if you’re just going through the motions, difficulties with health, reliance on alcohol or other substances, high levels of emotional fluctuations and difficulties in relationship with others. If you'd like to reconnect with vitality and wellbeing, feel reinvigorated and engaged with life again, counselling may help.

Using CBT, ACT, and Schema Therapy, I tailor therapy to your needs and help you make meaningful, lasting change in a safe, collaborative space.
My clients include people who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. They might face challenges such as anxiety, low mood, difficulties with focus, emotional regulation, or stress in their relationships. Many are neurodivergent, or are navigating life transitions that have left them feeling disconnected from themselves or others. What they want most is clarity, relief, and a sense of direction. They’re looking for practical strategies, genuine support, and a safe, respectful space to understand themselves better. Their goal isn’t just symptom reduction. It’s to feel more confident and connected in life.

Moreover I love supporting neurodivergent clients to understand their brain better, how to work with vs against their brain, and to foster self understanding and acceptance
Hi, my name is Cindy and I am a clinical psychologist. I work with clients who struggle with anxiety, self-esteem/worth, difficult childhood experiences/trauma, and burnout. Together we can explore how your past experiences shape how you feel about yourself, your patterns of relationships, and what you do to cope (e.g. people pleasing, worrying, perfectionism). We can work to break those unhelpful patterns and create a more meaningful life/ relationships. My goal is to help you to learn strategies to feel calmer, empowered, stronger sense of who you are and more at peace with yourself.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Counsellors

How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?

The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?

Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?

A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
