From an early age, I have been deeply fascinated by how people navigate life and adapt to its ever-changing circumstances. This passion led me to the field of psychology, where I have dedicated my career to understanding the profound connection between early trauma, brain development, and the nervous system.

Most of my clients come to me feeling confused, emotionally drained, and questioning themselves. On the outside, they often look like they’re coping. But inside, there’s a quiet sense of not feeling good enough, of second-guessing their needs, and of carrying patterns that don’t feel like their own.
I work with women who grew up in environments where love, approval, or safety felt inconsistent. You may not have a formal label for what you experienced, but something in you knows it was difficult. That’s enough.
My approach is active and collaborative. I’m not here just to listen while you vent.

I have been working in this space for over 15 years, predominately with adults who struggle with knowing what type of relationship they want with self and/or others. Part of your journey is understanding what outcomes are most suited to you and your unique circumstance, be it change, growth and development, or to dissolve a relationship or to assist in making a key decision moving forward. The techniques used will assist in finding what is needed to feel more secure within self, or in a relationship and works to differentiate those individual needs, creating a more secure attachment. If this resonates with you, book in a time.

It can be overwhelming and daunting to find a therapist who understands you, your story and your life. You don’t want the “cookie cutter”answers or quick fixes because it feeds into the dissatisfaction and feelings of being unheard.

I offer adult psychotherapy, child and family therapy, and parenting support.
I am a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and Clinical/Counselling Psychologist. The internal world is a complex place, and the challenges each of us face reflect that complexity. Psychotherapy can help people to understand themselves deeply – their feelings, dreams, needs, and struggles. My experience is that the more we understand ourselves, the better we become at making authentic and creative decisions in life and in relationships. Many of my patients have faced early life adversities and now work hard to generate self esteem or to navigate issues relating to identity, daily living, and intimate relationships.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.
When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.
How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
