The needs of my clients range from support with emotional regulation and executive function to reducing depression & anxiety. Some experience complex grief, while others struggle with addiction or interpersonal difficulties. Many are neurodiverse, some diagnosed as adults and seeking knowledge and understanding as well as skills to cope better and mask less.
Assessment clients can be self/GP/Paediatrician/school referred. ASD multidisciplinary assessments are administered with Speech Pathologists Laura Mattiazzo (Hendon) and Cindy Calvert-Leighton, (Gawler) and accepted by Autism SA.
I work with adults doing 'talk therapy', although being a visual learner myself, we sometimes use the whiteboard or Texta's and paper.
With children, activities are more hands on, including activities such as playdough, drawing, games, Power Point, video's etc. to facilitate engagement and 'learn through play'.
Bookings are currently being taken for ASD, ADHD, cognitive, psychoeducational and functional capacity assessments. If you are unsure about assessment, an assessment intake can be offered to discuss symptoms/behaviour/concerns.
