If you have never tried therapy before, that is completely okay — a lot of my clients come to me with only a little idea of what to expect. Therapy with me begins with conversation; a safe, judgement-free space where you can speak openly and begin to make sense of what you are feeling. There is no pressure to have the right words or to know where to start. I support adults facing issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, addiction, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, perfectionism, and life transitions. Whatever you bring, I ensure that your therapy is built around you and focuses on your experiences and needs.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, disconnection, or relationship difficulties that keep repeating. You may understand these patterns, but still find yourself reacting in the same ways. In our sessions, we slow these reactions down.

Come as you are; leave as you could be. More than a feel-good slogan, this reflects how we approach therapy. Ark Psychology Co is a place where you are welcome just as you are. And, at the same time, we recognise that you may not be where you want to be in life. Something—a mental health concern, trauma, a person, or even yourself—might be getting in the way between you and the life you want. Our goal is to help you move toward the life you want to live; to become who you are capable of becoming.

Many of the people I work with appear capable and functional, yet may privately feel stuck, lost, or unsure of who they are becoming. You may find yourself repeating the same patterns in relationships, being the rescuer, carrying the responsibility for everyone else or feeling frustrated that your own needs remain unclear and unmet. You may struggle with ADHD symptoms, confusing feelings, self-doubt, or a quiet sense that life is not unfolding in the way you hoped it would. I work primarily with people feeling strain in relationships, identity conflict, cultural or faith expectations, and questions about meaning and direction.

On paper, things might look fine. But something feels off. You might feel stuck, unsure what’s next, or like you’ve lost a sense of direction — even though you’re doing “all the right things.” That’s usually where this work starts. My approach sits somewhere between therapy and coaching. We don’t just talk — we figure things out. Together, we get clear on what actually matters to you, cut through what’s not working, and build a life that feels aligned.

Many of the men and couples I work with have spent years trying to hold everything together. They may be living with anxiety, burnout, loneliness, relationship difficulties, or questions about identity and belonging. Some are navigating coming out later in life, open relationships, intimacy concerns, or changing family dynamics. Others simply want a place where they do not have to explain what it means to be a gay or queer man. Together we explore what is keeping them stuck, reduce the impact of shame and self-criticism, and build greater confidence, connection and emotional wellbeing.

I work with people who feel overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or weighed down by a version of themselves they’ve outgrown. My approach is warm, grounded, deeply respectful of each person’s lived experience. I believe therapy is not about fixing what is “wrong” with you but understanding what your system has been trying to cope with, protect, or communicate. I bring both professional training and lived empathy to the work. My background includes Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy, trauma-informed care, Process Oriented Psychology and soul based inner work. Together we slow things down & listen to what is happening beneath the surface

I am a Clinical Psychologist and I like to help people know themselves more fully and in doing so; become more whole and live life more freely on their terms. I work with anyone no matter their group identity, but I have a special interest in working with men. I have completed the core training in Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), a psychodynamic psychotherapy that focuses on causative factors, not just symptom relief. I have also completed introductory training in a number of other modalities including Internal Family Systems and Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy.

Hi, I'm Diandra! If you're anything like the clients I work with, you might be coping on the surface, but underneath you feel stuck, overwhelmed by emotions, struggle with the past or are caught in habits that leave you disconnected, guilty or ashamed. You might be drinking, using substances or engaging in other unhelpful behaviours to cope. Maybe you're avoiding difficult feelings or feel exhausted by the same relationship patterns that never seem to shift. If you’re looking to make changes and better understand yourself, I take a practical approach to help you move forward with a focus on what truly matters to you.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
