I offer integrative, person centered therapy that draws on insights from trauma-oriented frameworks, evidence based therapies; holistic, somatic, gestalt and existential therapeutic frameworks amongst others.
Therapy can allow us to get to know, and live from, the self that guides all we want to be and guides our intuition; the self behind what world has led us to believe we are. By understanding all the aspects of being (mind, body, relational, transpersonal and contextual) therapy can help us learn how to negotiate life, let go of things that hinder us and live in a manner which is more conscious of all that is meaningful to us as individuals. In this way a person can live life to the full, in a manner that is true to yourself, leaves you feeling fulfilled and constantly growing.

My name is Lorraine Marsh, and if you have found your way here, then maybe you are looking for a different way to live your life. Have you lost a sense of your authentic self? What dreams have you let go of? Maybe you have never been encouraged to want something just for yourself? What are your intrinsic values? Would you like to understand thought and relationship patterns that no longer serve you? How can you rediscover what you love and to learn new skills to thrive? When was the last time you thought about what you wanted and took action to get it?

My approach is trauma-informed and along with my post graduate studies in counselling and psychotherapy, combines a number of holistic and integrative approaches such as Process-Oriented Psychology (Process Work), somatic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and family constellations.
As a holistic counsellor and psychotherapist, I support adults experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, navigating major life transitions and living with the legacies of trauma. I help people reconnect with their inner strengths and resources, and build a steadier, more grounded relationship with themselves and others.
I also support adults through identity shifts and life transitions, including relationship changes, career shifts, becoming a parent, midlife and other periods of change. This also includes working with adults exploring a late-identified or late-diagnosed neurodivergent identity, including ADHD, Autism and AuDHD.

I bring over 20 years experience working with individuals and couples, drawing on Gestalt, EFCT, Expressive Therapies, Attachment and Somatic work.
My ideal clients are individuals and couples ready to explore what's keeping them stuck — in old patterns, relationship struggles, or simply a life that no longer feels their own. Many carry early attachment wounds that quietly shape their present. I work relationally, creating a space where clients feel genuinely safe and heard. Together we explore what drives their patterns, rebuild trust in themselves and others, and find a way forward with greater clarity and freedom.

You've come here because you're suffering in some way. It is my honour to be able to offer a therapy space for people who want to face the pain in their lives, and see what might be on the other side. Many people come at times of change or transition: relationships, life stages, careers, dark nights of the soul, or plunges into the deep end. Or, people come feeling stuck after years of coping with trauma and addiction. In sessions, I support you to identify the conflicts, emotions, memories, and relationship struggles that repeat and we find ways to experience these differently.

Many of the people who come to me have reached a point where they’re ready for something to shift. They’re tired of repeating the same patterns, feeling disconnected, or sensing that life could be different but not knowing where to begin. Some are navigating depression, anxiety, or grief; others are carrying the impact of trauma, family violence, or crime. Many are simply starting their personal development journey and feel unsure where or how to start. What they all share is a readiness to understand themselves more deeply and take steps toward meaningful change.

My work blends Gestalt therapy with somatic and CBT and DBT-informed strategies.
You might appear capable on the outside, yet inside feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of yourself. Often there’s a quiet longing to feel more resourced, more secure in who you are, and closer to what truly matters. In our work, we slow things down and bring awareness to what’s happening now, creating room for choice.
I support clients to live more fully by building awareness and opening space for new possibilities, supporting stronger self-esteem, clearer choices, and a steadier relationship with yourself when life feels demanding.

My client may be living with the effects of sexual abuse or complex trauma and feels overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsafe in their own body or relationships. They may struggle with anxiety, shame, emotional numbness, or trusting others, and feel tired of just “coping.” They are seeking safety, understanding, and a space where they are believed. Their goal is not to erase the past, but to feel grounded, regain control, reconnect with themselves and others, and live with greater calm, dignity, and choice.
If you want it more emotional, more clinical, or more empowerment-focused, I can adjust it instantly.

I am a Clinical Psychologist and I like to help people know themselves more fully and in doing so; become more whole and live life more freely on their terms. I work with anyone no matter their group identity, but I have a special interest in working with men. I have completed the core training in Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), a psychodynamic psychotherapy that focuses on causative factors, not just symptom relief. I have also completed introductory training in a number of other modalities including Internal Family Systems and Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy.

If you’ve gained insight into your struggles but still feel stuck, or feel disconnected from your body, emotions, or relationships, I offer an embodied and relational way forward.
My work is grounded in Gestalt therapy and focuses on what’s happening in the here and now — in your thoughts, feelings, body, and relationships.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.
Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.
Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.
What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
