My ideal client is someone who has carried the weight of responsibility for far too long: men, veterans, parents, and individuals navigating relationship strain, emotional fatigue, or a loss of direction. Often, they are the dependable ones, the "rocks" for others, but silently wrestling with stress, disconnection, or inner turmoil. They want someone who gets it, they want to break patterns that no longer serve them, reconnect with their values, and take action that feels honest and grounded. Their goal is not to be "fixed," but to become more aligned: emotionally, mentally, and relatationally.

For reasons that I cannot explain, the more complex the clients needs, the more likely they are to find themselves on my doorstep. Commonly, I have clients tell me in their first session that 'they have many issues and no one else has ever been able to help them before' - this is generally an indication that we will build a lasting relationship. I am patient, very open-minded and laid back in my approach whilst still maintaining professionalism. If you fear therapy because of the overly clinical approach then you will find my way of forming a therapeutic alliance refreshing and endearing.

The first step is often the hardest... Find clarity in what you want, be able to express yourself, feel motivated, and explore what positive relationships look like. Have fears, hesitations, confusion and the past been holding you back from contentment in life, career or relationships? Be in the present moment and become more aware of your thoughts. This provides immense relief from fear-based thoughts and gives you clarity, as the mental clutter shifts. This is helpful for all areas of life - career, purpose, relationships, stress, anxiety and so on. Available in ANY location Australia wide via video call.

Let’s start with this: You are not your ADHD. You might look like you’re coping — holding down a job, keeping up appearances — but inside, it’s chaotic. The overthinking, the scattered focus, the constant sense that you're behind. Maybe it’s ADHD, anxiety, or just a brain that won’t switch off. What you want is clarity, calm, and tools that actually help. More than that, you want to feel like yourself again. I work with people like you to understand your mind, quiet the self-doubt, and build a life that feels manageable and meaningful.

I work with clients who may be struggling with identity, low self-esteem, family tension, emotional burnout, and motivation struggles.
You might be feeling stuck, self-critical, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward. Maybe you are carrying anxiety, low mood, grief, relationship stress, identity questions, life transitions, or patterns that seem to keep repeating. My practice is a space where we can slow things down, make sense of what is happening beneath the surface, and explore your experience with honesty, compassion, and direction.

Hi, I’m Jack. I am a psychotherapist, educator, father and long term partner and I came to this work through my own experiences with therapy. I have come to trust that both acceptance and change are possible in our lives. There are many reasons we may begin therapy; we may long for change or hope for opportunities for healing, growth and transformation. Whether there is a particular thing you are struggling with, a need for greater support, or an interest in deepening self-awareness, I can support you on your journey.

Self Esteem Therapists
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
