I work with young & mature adults to build confidence & improve self esteem , couples/individual family members to resolve conflict & stresses associated with changes to family roles, parenting, health & work.
Transitions whether positive or negative, planned or unexpected can generate stress and anxiety, but there is always a path forward so that you can emerge healthier, happier and more able to cope. With the right guidance and support you can learn to navigate destructive emotions like anger, shame, guilt, sadness and loneliness and learn how to re-evaluate your values and set achievable goals.

As a registered counsellor, I work with people whose concerns might be about anxiety, depression, low self esteem , relationship difficulties, stress, their emotions, grief & loss, or complex post traumatic stress (CPTSD). It could be something less defined, vague yet familiar & unsettling. Perhaps you feel disconnected, isolated, or always pressured, rushed, never able to be yourself fully. Maybe something has happened at work, at school or college in your relationship/s, or with a parent or other close family members. Or you have experienced, or are experiencing, family and domestic violence.

You may want to learn to regulate your mood so your low moods have less impact on your day-to-day life. You might want to learn to relate better to others. You might want to learn more about yourself and your values and how this could impact on behaviour and on others. Don't expect to see a change if you don't make one. I enable positive change. My clients may have seen a therapist or coach before, but it didn't change anything for them. They then come to me. They want to make lasting positive change in their lives, but they need somebody to give them structured tools and support them in the growth process. Change can be good, but it is not easy. Typically, my clients come to me feeling that living on auto-pilot or that they have lost touch with who they are at their core. They desire more life satisfaction and are prepared to work for it. They want to thrive not just survive.

I work well with clients who experience difficulties relating to anxiety, depression, and challenges in relationships. These clients would be open to self-exploration and digging deep into the biological, social, and psychological factors that are influencing them and contributing to their symptoms, with the aim of better understanding what is going on for them. Their goals may include developing coping strategies, improving important relationships, and addressing the underlying issues behind their salient challenges. The clients would be willing to challenge their own thinking and behavioural patterns to elicit positive change.

Hello. If you’re searching for a new and effective way of coping with stress, burnout, anxiety or complex trauma recovery, third-wave psychology might be the secret ingredient you’re looking for (mindfulness combined with traditional talk therapy). Maybe you’re suffering the horrible confusion and pain of narcissistic abuse or bullying. I can help. I have lived experience and in-depth understanding of what you’re going through. I’ve published a book, a podcast, blog and recently a short article in Australian Counselling Journal.

Self Esteem Counsellors
Self-esteem lives on a spectrum: Not enough self-regard (or low self esteem) can lead people to become depressed, or to tolerate abusive situations and relationships. Too much self-love (or high self-esteem), results in an off-putting sense of entitlement and an inability to learn from failure. And it's occasionally a sign of clinical narcissism. Quite the opposite of being shy or shyness, yet still on the same spectrum.
