I exclusively work with crickerers (young amateurs, semi-pro, pro or elite), sport parents, performers & sport team coaches. I help you with the psychological shifts needed to transition through the different stages of your sporting career. EG: From Semi-pro to Pro or from Pro to Elite. Before you even get to that level, you need to know you belong there. All the issues you are experiencing in your sport stem from that core issue. That is the essence of my work.

I also provide cognitive, learning, and behavioural assessments.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, stress, grief, loss, burnout, substance use, and major life transitions. My approach helps people deepen self-understanding, strengthen relationships, develop healthier coping strategies, and create meaningful change. I also support parents who feel overwhelmed by their child’s emotions or behaviour, especially when their own stress or past trauma is triggered. Therapy helps make sense of these patterns, builds connection, and fosters confidence in responding with empathy and consistency—at home and in school settings.

I work with adults whose lives have been shaped by abusive family systems or controlling relationships. Many of the people I support grew up in environments where their needs were ignored, minimised, or punished, or they have found themselves in relationships marked by emotional harm, manipulation, or coercive control. My approach to counselling is trauma informed, compassionate, and grounded in respect for your autonomy. I believe healing comes from being supported to understand what has happened. Over time, these experiences can deeply impact self trust, boundaries, and the ability to feel safe in relationships

I tailor therapy to your unique needs, using evidence-based approaches like ACT and CBT.
It’s not always easy to ask for support, especially when you’ve been holding it all together for so long. You might be feeling anxious, exhausted, or emotionally drained. Maybe you’re managing a chronic illness, feeling lost in a big life transition, burnt out from work or study, or questioning who you are and what matters to you now. Even if you're someone who usually copes well, it might feel like things just aren’t working anymore. You might be craving a space that feels calm and affirming, where you can take a breath, feel understood, and begin to figure things out at your own pace, with someone who really gets it.

Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) Therapists
How does cognitive behavioural therapy work?
Cognitive behavioural therapy works by exploring how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. CBT helps you identify distortions in your thinking. For example, you may tend to jump to the worst case scenario catastrophising or think in extremes (all-or-nothing thinking). A therapist can teach you how to push back against those thoughts to ultimately change your feelings and behavior for the better. They can also provide coping skills to better deal with stressors and challenges.

When do I know to seek treatment with cognitive behavioural therapy?
It’s reasonable to consider cognitive behavioural therapy if you struggle to manage difficult emotions or behaviors to such an extent that you are not getting the most out of life on a day-to-day basis. If you want a shorter term, concrete, skills-based approach, CBT is a great option. (By contrast, other types of therapy may devote more time to exploring your past and its effects.) The decision to seek CBT also depends on the condition you’re treating; CBT is an effective treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other disorders.

How can I find a cognitive behavioural therapist for someone else?
To find a cognitive behavioural therapist for someone else, you may want to begin by discussing the person’s problem, researching cognitive behavioural therapy, and assessing whether the approach is the right fit. You could then reach out to a few cognitive behavioral therapists in this directory, explain the scenario, have a consultation with those available, and determine who could be a good match.

Why is CBT such a popular form of therapy?
CBT has become a popular form of therapy because it is effective and accessible. Robust research has demonstrated that CBT is an effective treatment for many mental health conditions. And CBT can be learned in relatively few sessions, which means that many people can engage in the process, afford it, and see results quickly. It involves learning concrete skills such as disputing unhelpful thoughts; these skills can also be taught and spread widely.
