I offer EMDR, including RI-EMDR (EMDR, somatic and parts work, inclusive of spirituality).
I help women who feel anxious, overwhelmed, or lost—often because they care for others and people-please at their own expense. If you are wishing the thinking would stop so you can sleep... if you're tired and overwhelmed, with endless demands, often feeling unseen, you are not alone. It’s okay to pause and let yourself take part in your own life, one step at a time. Here in this therapy space, we come together, light the lantern, and shake off what holds you back so you can take the next step that will take you closer to how you want to live. For me, therapy includes your body, inherited sorrows and strengths, and your connections.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from yourself or others. Perhaps you're navigating grief, anxiety, identity concerns, or the pressure to keep everything together while struggling inside. You want clarity, relief, and to feel more like yourself again. You’re seeking space to talk openly, be heard without judgement, and explore what matters to you with someone who will walk alongside you, not direct you. You're not broken you just need a place to be understood.

I am guided by trauma-informed principles and use somatic practices.
I work to build trust with you, as a good working relationship has been evidenced to be the main factor in facilitating change across any therapeutic modality. Trauma-informed and somatic principles strongly guide my approach, as I believe our bodies offer valuable insights into how real change can be made.

I draw on humanistic and trauma-informed approaches, integrating somatic and body-based methods alongside more traditional talk therapies.
To the outside world, it seems that you function well. But inside, there's a persistent sense that what you feel is not quite right, maybe it's too much, or even too little. Maybe you feel that others wouldn’t be affected by the things the way you are. That the version of you that shows up internally isn't the version you're supposed to be. You are self-aware and capable, however, there is still something within you that doesn't shift. Maybe there are deeper questions underneath: did something from your past shape how you see yourself? Might the way your mind works explain something you've always quietly called a flaw?

You've been holding it together carefully. Work, relationships, responsibilities, all accounted for. But something has gone quiet inside. Not dramatically. Just gradually. You've become so serious about life that you've stopped feeling alive in it, and you can't remember when that happened. You don't need a crisis to come to therapy. You need to feel like yourself again. I'm Mae, a Thai psychotherapist based in Thornbury, Melbourne. I work with adults who are thoughtful, high-functioning, and quietly running on empty.

I offer a warm, supportive space where you can show up as you are. I work especially with men, adolescents, and young adults who may find it hard to talk openly about emotions, stress, or past experiences. I work at a pace that feels right for you, with a strong focus on safety, trust, and choice. My work is grounded in Gestalt therapy and focuses on what’s happening in the here and now — in your thoughts, feelings, body, and relationships. I support clients to notice patterns that often develop in response to earlier experiences and how these patterns can show up as stress, emotional shutdown, anger, anxiety, or feeling stuck.

Undertaking therapy is a very personal and meaningful journey—whether you're looking to heal trauma, face relationship struggles, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply. The growth that can come from this inner work often not only nurtures your own wellbeing but positively impacts those around you. It’s a genuine honour to walk alongside my clients as they navigate challenges, build more self understanding and unlock deeper inner resilience. My work aims to support gentle reconnection—with self and others—especially where early attachment experiences have shaped current ways of relating.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
