I work with a variety of clients including neurodivergent children, adolescents, adults, and the families who care for them, as well as people navigating life transitions, new parenthood, and perinatal mental health. Many come feeling unseen, or exhausted from trying to explain themselves in spaces that weren't built with them in mind. I bring my own neurodivergent lived experience alongside my clinical training, and I approach every person with genuine curiosity, warmth, and care.

Hello, and thank you for being here. Finding the right psychologist can be hard. Many people arrive after trying therapy before, sometimes more than once, feeling disappointed or unsure it would help. You may be giving this one last go, thank you for not giving up and for being open to trusting again. Therapy with me doesn’t need a plan. We can move at your pace, focus on what matters to you, or work toward goals when it feels right. I support people with depression, anxiety, ADHD, ASD, PTSD, panic disorder, OCD, relationship and family concerns, workplace stress, and life transitions.

Alternatively, you may be navigating an important transition in work or personal relationships or change in your mental or physical health. My work focusses on assisting clients to understand the source of their distress or uncertainty and move toward a life that is more fulfilling. Using trauma informed practices, together we navigate challenging transitions, acknowledge grief and anxieties and make sense of patterns and choices. Together, we work toward making practical changes.

All people of all ages can experience difficult times in their life. These may have been caused by an event that has caused distress, issues with family, friendships, relationships, the work place, health issues and countless other situations. Sometimes events have happened long ago and continue to trouble us and impact our life, or the situation may be more recent. It can be difficult to share what is happening. Often we don't want to burden or worry those who care for us; or we may feel uncomfortable talking to people we know. Counselling provides support toward finding resolutions and living life in the best way possible.

Many clients experience increased clarity, calmer responses and more confidence in themselves and their parenting.
You look like you’re coping, but inside you feel overwhelmed, irritable and stretched too thin. You may be raising children far from family support, navigating cultural expectations, relationship strain, or the intensity of strong-willed kids. The constant mental load, the guilt of never doing enough, or the tension that builds after long, exhausting days. You want to feel calmer, less guilty, more connected to yourself and your family, and to stop feeling like you’re failing at your relationship or as a mother.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
